1. When the statement about "giving us your poor and your poor, yearning to breathe free. They expected that those coming were going through Ellis Island where they would go through an actual entry process, not sneak across a border.
We have black Africans coming here from, of course, Africa and they are doing it LEGALLY. They are also appreciated for doing it the legal way and are getting good occupations since arriving. So, skin color means nothing, only doing it the legal way.
Those trying to cross our southern border have been told to go to the "proper" check in ports of entry, NOT sneak across the river.
All who want in must be vetted. We don't want the following:
MS-13 gang members.
Drug-cartel members.
Sex Traffickers.
Tren de Aragua gang members.
Any gang members for that matter.
Criminals escaping prosecution in their own nation.
Criminals being released from their countries prisons and directed toward the USA.
Muslim terrorists.
Rapists.
Thieves.
Criminals in general.
Women from nations south of Mexico that claim they want sanctuary in the United States, from abusive husbands. Reason: When women in this nation leave abusive relationships, they simply move to another town or state. Any woman from those other nations that claim they want sanctuary, need only move to another town in their own country or the country nearest them, but not the USA.
If thousands of lily-white Norwegians were trying to sneak across out southern border, I'd still say no. Arrange to come through legally.
Also, when our populace was faced with a tyrannical government (England), we rose up, fought and drove that government out. Those trying to cross our borders claiming persecution need to gather with like-minded people, rise up and end the oppression.
