For those us who were wondering what message the far left would take from the Scott Brown election, we didn't have long to wait: 'Double Down' on the bullying, authoritarian, command-and-control' type of governing.

Full speed ahead.

“Evan Bayh, Jim Webb and the rest of the Conservadems should stop listening to Republican spin and grow some political spine and start fighting hard…

It's either that ridiculous scenario or suddenly, out of the blue, Independent-Moderate's are not down with the liberal agenda that was pushed successfully by Obama and the Democrats during campaign 2008. Both of these reactions make said Indepedemods look really stupid. Nice going, Evan.

So, let's see here. Yes, Scott Brown did flat out beat Martha Coakley for Kennedy's seat, but so what? He certainly did not beat the entire Democratic party. I mean come on! Those "defeated" Democrats still hold their second largest Senate majority since Watergate. Watergate! Definitely not the time to panic, but Bayh still decides that it's best to play the stereotypical "weak Democrat" and just give up to those scary, but totally harmless Republicans.”

Just like the Ignorati who keep supporting Communism, and other totalist concepts:

"Yet self-proclaimed intellectuals stuck to socialism even after it had clearly failed. Throughout his career, Revel would attack, with vivacity and much humor, the blindness of these leftist thinkers. In Last Exit to Utopia, Revel systematically contrasted the indisputable realities with the stubborn leftist commitment to dubious social experiments."

Have you NO idea what religious right has been doing to the Rs for decades now?

Yeah I'm quite sure that "Air America" got all of it's 4 listeners quite riled up with this piece. :D

air america still exists....

Yeah they went Chapter 11 (big surprise with geniuses like Al Franken and Janeanne Garofolo at the helm, huh?) and Green Family Media bought 'em out, suckers.........

Now they pander to the handful of people that live in areas where they can't get Rush Limbaugh on the radio. :D

Hate to tell the Air America folks and their handful of listeners but there's a lot more of that kind of behavior to come from other Dimocrats.

What part of the VA and NJ ass kickings followed by the loss of the Senate seat held by Teddy for nearly a half century don't they get? Independents broke 2:1 for Republicans in VA and NJ and then by 3:1 in MA. Dims have a full-scale Independent revolt on their hands. Many can't survive without their votes and in 10 short months all their House members and some in the Senate are gonna need Independents to survive. They're worried about their own precious asses and will toss Obama, other extreme leftists and even their own mothers under to bus save them.

Follow the Air America idiots at your own peril, Dims.

I'd like to re-address this thread:

No matter the lack of listenership of Air America, the point of the OP is that it represents the thinking of many of the Democrat leadership, those who will not recognize the message of the Brown election.

Did anyone notice that they just increased the amount of debt the government could accumulate?

Does this presage big government or small?

And what do you suppose they intend to do with this money, save it? Pay down the debt? Or continue to use largesse for 'friends' and to cement their power.

No, the Air America blog should indicate that the battle has just begun, nor will the left ever, ever give up.

What is the message. I ask this because I was listening to Neal Boortz and his guest (a guy who polls for Politico) on the eve of the election. Neal believed that if Coakley won, the left would spin it as a national validation of Obama's policies and he and his guest both poo-poo'ed that notion. Of course the other side of the equation was that if Brown won, THAT would be a national repudiation of Obama's policies. My thoughts were that you can't have it both ways. The pollster kept talking about how independent, unbiased and dispassionate he is due to his profession, but he spent every minute he was on bashing Obama. Whatever happend to fair and reasoned analysis?

You may disagree, but to me, the message was quite clear.

1. Massachusetts folks objected to Obamacare, which is why Brown constantly stated that he would be the '41st vote.'

2. Brown stated that in addition to above, his internal polling found that second to Obamacare, folks objected to the way national security was being handled, i.e. lawyers for terrorists, no military trials, gitmo.

You can find these themes prominent in his victory speech on Youtube.

Also in there are standard conservative views with respect to immoderate spending, closed door bill-writing, and special deals.

It's worth the 20 minutes or so to watch. And no teleprompters were used.

So we agree that it was only the Massachusetts folks making a choice and NOT a national refutation of Obama by the American people as talk radio and pundits like to claim?

Absolutely!

As long as you're oblivious to:

"In other recent news, last November, New Jersey voters, who haven't voted for a Republican for president since 1988, threw out their incumbent Democratic governor, Jon Corzine. In Virginia, which Obama carried by 6 points a year earlier, a religious-right Republican won the governor's office by 17 points.

Sen. Ben Nelson, Democrat of Nebraska, won his last election in 2006 by 28 points -- the largest margin for a Democratic Senate candidate in that state in a quarter-century.

Since voting for the Senate health care bill last Christmas, the once-bulletproof Sen. Nelson not only gets booed out of Omaha pizzerias, but he has also seen his job approval rating fall to 42 percent and his disapproval rating soar to 48 percent. (Meanwhile, the junior senator from Nebraska, Mike Johanns, who voted against the bill, has a job approval rating of 63 percent.)"

Welcome to AnnCoulter.com

So we agree: if you bury your head in the sand, the Brown victory was a limited regional event...

and Democrats should keep on keepin' on.

And, if you adhere to my critieria, be sure you have a boyscout to help you when you cross the street.

So, going back to my Neal Boortz story.......if Coakley had one, would that have been a limited regional or national event?

No problem with the Boy Scouts, I have 60 of them in my Troop and we don't help nearly as many people as you'd think across the street.

Coakley win: ObamaCare, Cap and Trade, restrictions on the internet and talk radio, and every other command-and-control initiative.

In short: National

Air America is still on the air?

Is their budget coming out of Franken's office now?

Oh, I'm sorry. Mr. Franken...
