AI and the problems it will cause for the future

We have had welfare....and it's been an absolute failure.

A recent study concluded:
It's made poor people become addicted to drugs and procreate more children addicted to drugs and government handouts. It's become an ever increasing segment of the population.

If you want more of something then just add government subsidies.

For example in the USA there was no form of health insurance available for retirees over 55.
Enter Medicare and viola all sorts of Medicare supplemental policies were available for all retirees...

We only had a few Electric vehicles available (most were abject failures in sales and forgotten) and then the Government began subsidizing them. Entire electric vehicle companies sprang up overnight. The Tesla is the only successful electric car company....but Teslas have issues still. (Social revenge, above average tire wear, electronics problems, internet update issues, and etc)

So....IMHO,
Stop welfare completely. It's making things worse.

Yes, welfare needs to work properly.

When you have huge corporations like Walmart going to the government and saying "hey, we don't want to pay our workers a good wage, can you fill in the gaps, and here's a little backhander (that's not very little)" the govt say "We love backhanders".

And then Walmart goes back to them as says "we don't want to pay tax, how about a little backhander (that's not very little) and we don't pay our fair share of tax?" and the govt says "we love backhanders".

The US govt is so ******* corrupt. Nothing "works" because it "works" for the people who control the government. They get rich, richer every year. The poor get poorer, "**** the poor"

At some point it's going to fail. Rome did. The greed made things untenable.

I'm with you on this. Trump is pushing this tech AI and its not going to end well. It will become global to where everyone will bow to it except a few who will be ostracized and hunted. It will begin with a social score.....but won't end there.

But not just Trump. Lots of people are pumping AI and I'll bet the next Democratic president will do so too.

This isn't a partisan thing, this is across the board. But it won't end well.

My last post I wrote was "The US will fail because of greed" and now this one too.

Things are getting a little weird in the AI space right now. First is the massive energy bottleneck that is forming, and so far the companies that are trying to fill that need haven't gotten there. Second is some questionable bookkeeping tactics AI companies are using, such as depreciating their chips on a five- to seven-year slope, which is ridiculously long. That's been keeping their stock prices (and the stock market's prices) up, but it's beginning to stink a bit.

So in a backwards way, I think we're going to see some serious slop in that industry in the short term, which may buy us some time to get our shit together on dealing with the important issues you present. But I sure as hell don't see this country collaborating and innovating to solve any big problems any time soon. We're stuck in the sandbox. This may very well be a pretty rough road. China is very, very pleased to see that. They're definitely ahead of us right now.

Thing was....

We have DOGE....
And Democrats wanted to stop them at EVERY turn with blatant, obvious fraud and abuse they uncovered. Even wanting an explanation as to what the Government was writing a check for was too much by Democrat standards.

If we want to actually stop the majority of fraud with tax dollars then we must support DOGE. it doesn't matter who is in the Whitehouse or Congress because Congress was supposed to have oversight and abjectly failed at providing it.

Eventually DOGE will become corrupt as well....it will need to be shut down. (Just the way things happen)

The FTC, SEC, and Farm Credit are all completely corrupt agencies in our Government. I don't know if we can clean them up they are corrupted to horribly.

Also our Judicial system does NOT want to encarcerate anyone anymore. Which is how some high profile murders and assaults have happened. The only thing they seem to want to do is stop Trump from exercising his constitutional powers by overstepping theirs.

The USA is in trouble with a capital "T".

We either collectively put political games aside or that money the politicians are grabbing won't be worth anything. And it's NOT just Walmart engaged in these games....it's ALL large corporations and Banks (including brokerage houses) over half of all stock trades are now made off book. (That's another HUGE problem)

No, it's NOT better to rule in a garbage dump than be a peasant in paradise. And we need people to figure this crap out quickly.

Small businesses (like custom picture frame shops, locksmiths, goat cheese makers, and other little companies) WERE the backbone of our economy. Currently eaten and destroyed by large businesses with pocket politicians.

I don't think DOGE is the answer. The answer is changing the electoral system so people actually have power with their votes, increased oversight, the ability to get rid of a political party when they do bad things.

That's Proportional Representation.

Congress sets and creates the budget and has actual oversight...

But....DODGE has the brainpower and tools to actually do the job of oversight. (After the fact...but whatever)

Dodge just brings all those dirty little secrets to light.....

Tulsi Gabbard knows how the money got spent after taking leads from a little deaf accountant lady with a knack for forensic accounting. (Another DOGE team member)

Basically between Tulsi (DNI) and DOGE together they FORCE CONGRESS to actually do their jobs instead of taking payoffs to not.

Do you trust the government to have oversight of itself? I don't. It's clearly not working.

Surely the voters should have oversight, like they do in other countries.
