After November 2012 What Will the Dems Do?

Worthless. If you thing this is going to be an easy victory for the republicans, you are a partisan hack. Same for the other side. Obama has a lot of power to play in this election still and it is going to be tough for the republicans to unseat him. This will not be an easy fight.

So pretty much everyone knows, even if they are not saying, that the Democrats are going to get the beating of their lives come next election day. Obama's approval ratings are so low you need an oil rig to find them. If you could find an oil rig that was working. Congress' are lower than that. We have had 3 years of total Democratic control on top of 2 years of Dem Congressional control. The result has been near total disaster for the economy, as well as overseas policy.
So after these clowns are voted out, what will the Democratic Party do? Will do the decent thing and find a more centrist leader, like Joe Lieberman or Zell Miller? Will they decide they weren't leftist enough and merge with the Communist Party USA? Or will they fade away like the Whigs and leave the GOP to duke it out with the Tea Party on the right and the Greens on the Left?

I remember an old adage about not counting your chickens before they are hatched.

The GOP has horrible candidates, which is the best thing Obama's got going for him. Perry is fading, Romney is still a phony with a weird religion, and a large chunk of the party is taking a header by backing Cain.

This is literally the gang that couldn't shoot straight.

Two things that often precede an incumbant's loss have not happened.

No one inside the party is challenging Obama.

No third party appears ready to evolve to draw votes away from him. (If anything, a third party is likely to split the GOP vote.)

I'd rather just wait till we win the election to find out. No point getting cocky, assuming its in the bag and speculating when its not.

After reading the OP and the mild insanity that followed ( calls for mass suicide included ), this comment, which is really just a simple statement of the obvious, is an attempt by the author to seem reasonable and thoughtful.

It was a failed attempt, of course. It failed to identify the blatant use of opinion as fact and misinformation in the OP.

"The Rabbi," "CrusaderFrank," "TruthSeeker56" and their conservative friends must be all loosing sleep, hoping against hope that the economy and the lives of millions of Americans don't improve before November 6th, 2012!

If Obama's policies failed to improve the economy over the last 3 years why do you think they will suddenly start improving over the next 12 months? Do you think the tooth fairy is going to deliver the economy? That makes as much sense as anything else the left has put out.

Obama is done. Even his aides acknowledge it. His record sucks. His popularity sucks. He was an empty suit all along and now even the main stream press points out he has no clothes.
Don't count out Perry. Don't count out anyone. The first primary has yet to be run. I remember when Howard Dean seemed unbeatable and he collapsed within 72 hours. The press will play minor candidates to increase readership. They will attack Perry because they know he is a winner.
It if downright funny to see the Dems whistling past the graveyard on this one.

The economy improves Nov 2012 when Obama's one miserable term ends and Dems lose another 75 Congress seats and half their remaining state houses.

One should never count those chickens before they hatch.

Its over a year till election time. Anything can happen.

Talk to me on the day after the election.

A wise man has eyes in his head.

What is the likelihood the economy will get better suddenly in 12 months rather than worse? What is the likelhiodd that Obama's policies will work when they havent worked for the last 3 years? What is the likelihood that Obama's popularity, which is tied to the economy, will suddenly turn around?

So given all that it is an easy prediction the Dems will be slaughtered. My question is what do they do aftert hat? WIll they become some verson of a centrist party with libertarian leanings? OR will they go hard left to obscurity?

While I agree with what you say there Rab its not the whole story.

If another 9-11 type occurance happens the people will rally round the Prez just as they rallied round Bush. Now no one is hoping for anything like that to happen but in all honesty it could. Never say never.

Would that translate into votes for Barry?? Dont' know. But then you never know.

The same thing the republicans have been doing. Blame everyithing on the other party.

What do you mean? That is what they have been doing for the last three years.

Immie

Yeah because things were just perfect when the republicans lost the last election huh?

Lets see Clinton left you with a mild recession and A budget surplus.

You guys turned that into a hit on US soil, two unpaid ofr wars, a world economic crash and a crumbling infrastructure.

Obama should have kissed your feet and thanked you huh?

After the ass kicking that's coming it's up to the Dimocrats to figure out what the hell they're gonna do.

Republicans on the other hand had better just concentrate on the jobs at hand and keep the very recent past in mind at all times. It's hard to believe we're not even three years yet since the '08 election, after which, for example, one liberal pundit crowed about how the Republican party would be dead in the water for a generation or more! Yet look how quickly they've squandered their opportunity and the tables are about to be turned.

Ah, yes.....everyone/everybody knows....that opener that corrals all "conservatives" into (the safety of) the Majority.

More-recently, John Boner has enhanced that hustle, with...."The American People say....", and "The American People want....", and "The American People think....".

Doesn't it get kinda smothering, for you "conservatives", running-to (and, hiding-within) whatever herd is available?

:eusa_eh:

they cant even find a candidate they like and are claiming victory.

Pretty funny stuff

When the democrats lose in 2012, they will declare the election illegal and a fraud then try to overturn the election. They will LOUDLY and continually claim that democracy has been disregarded by republicans and fight to restore their own democratic ideals. Ideals that have become facist.

What will you do if the candidate you havent evern picked yet cant draw enough of the American people to win the election?

On what basis are you making the claim of victory?

"faith"

If the left hasn't disapeared by now, they won't even after an Obama loss.

We'll be fighting these cock suckers all of our lives.
