Correct. Years ago Gender Dysphoria was a rare occurrence and was treated extremely carefully. There was a lot of psychological screening before any sort of decision to give hormones and consider surgery.
Today getting hormone treatment for minors let alone adults is handled very carelessly and many receiving these life altering drugs, should not be getting them, especially the minors.
As you see, the psych community is WOKE .....
they do not consider the condition as a "mental illness" in the traditional sense.

Gender Dysphoria is the same as Body Integrity Disorder and Anorexia. We don't treat the afflicted by amputating limbs or giving anorexics massive doses of laxatives. Maybe these treatments don't pay enough.

I think anorexia is bad but IMO gender dysphoria is higher on the scale of mental illness.
