As Warren Schmidt retires, he asks the question "now what?"
He spent his last months at the company developing a product line, believing it was an awesome plan. Only to find all of the papers and charts etc. he made in the trash 1 day later.
His wife of 42 years annoys him, the only light of his life - his daughter is marrying a schmuck loser whose family are about as white trash as you can get.
Then he finds out his wife cheated on him for years with his best friend.
Warren is having a bad day.

Younger folks are probably not going to identify too well with this movie. If you are 50 and older, you will.
It is well done, Jack Nicholson was the perfect actor for the role
This is a good one.

The scene showing Kathy Bates in the hot tub is disturbing.

This is what I call an identification movie. Many older Americans will identify with Schmidt and become involved in the film while other will find it a so so movie and a bit boring. I enjoyed the movie. Nicholson performance is good as expected. He created a character that is both touching and funny. If you're over fifty, at least in mind and spirit give it a try.
