Trump needs to be asked about this

It was not immediately clear if the departures happened in defiance of the U.S. measures. U.S. President Donald Trump said on Saturday that an "oil embargo" on Venezuela was in full force, but added that under an incoming transition Venezuela's largest customers, including China, would keep receiving oil.

Every one of those tankers should be intercepted, sized, and redirected to unload their contents at some port near Houston. Of course, the screams would be furious from the poo-flinging leftist chimps: They would endlessly repeat their mantra that Trump's actions were "all about oil." But it is about oil in some respects: Keeping that oil out of the hands of Cuba, China, and North Korea makes good sense to me.

I think at least a few were Russian flagged tankers.

It's hard to tell, they've been known to raise whatever flag they think will get them to their destination.

Those tanker captains probably have more flags than the UN. :laughing0301:

Chevron still operates bringing heavy crude from there to the US under special license. Anyway, you can ask Trump anything you want. You won't get an honest answer because he never tells the truth and at this point, doesn't even appear to be the one calling the shots. Little Marco is the Commander in Chief on this one.

HOUSTON, Jan 5 (Reuters) - An oil tanker chartered by U.S. Chevron carrying some 300,000 barrels of Venezuelan heavy crude bound for the U.S. Gulf Coast departed on Monday from the OPEC country's waters, shipping data showed, after a four-day pause in the company's exports of Venezuelan oil.

OK, so non-sanctioned shipments....Good to go!
