- Tonight’s showdown: Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris will face off tonight in Philadelphia in their first presidential debate as the latest polls show the race for the White House remains tight. - Ahead of the debate: The Trump campaign previewed some of the lines of attack that Trump is likely to deploy tonight, arguing that Harris “owns everything from this administration.” Meanwhile, former Trump officials who now say they support Harris will speak out at a press availability ahead of the debate.
- The debate rules: There will be no audience, the candidates’ microphones will be muted when it’s not their turn to speak and they will not be allowed to have notes.
