A SCOTUS justice who shouldn't be a justice!

Being a SCOTUS justice should require supreme intellect and insistence on facts, not some clap trap, pie in the sky theory that a "god" exists and therefore our rights come from her/him. Thomas likes to say that our "rights" emanate from some all powerful nebulous entity in the sky, who supposedly exists although there is not a shred of evidence that this entity is real! Thomas also says that this "god," not government delivered him from the evils of slavery and segregation. I guess he never heard of Abraham Lincoln.

Of course, this kind of nonsense rhetoric that he delivered at the U. of Texas would be well received, since Texas has demonstrated more than once that they are not the smartest state in the Union, really far from it.

Bigly!!!
"Our rights and our dignities come not from God but from Government"

or

"Our rights and our dignities come not from Government but from God"

I suggest neither. Government does give out the rights and dignities being referenced here. And this "God" is just as much a man-made creation as any of those so-called dignities and rights are.

Human constructs woven into myths to make weak and fearful men feel...whatever

John Adams: “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

Benjamin Franklin: “Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.”

Samuel Adams: “Neither the wisest constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people whose manners are universally corrupt. He therefore is the truest friend to the liberty of his country who tries most to promote its virtue, and who, so far as his power and influence extend, will not suffer a man to be chosen into any office of power and trust who is not a wise and virtuous man.”

James Madison: “Liberty may be endangered by the abuses of liberty as well as by the abuses of power.”

Thomas Jefferson: “To preserve [our] independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt.”

Alexander Hamilton: “Real liberty is neither found in despotism or the extremes of democracy, but in moderate governments.”

Thomas Jefferson: “The way to have good and safe government is not to trust it all to one, but to divide it among the many. . . . What has destroyed liberty and the rights of man in every government which has ever existed under the sun? The generalizing and concentrating all cares and powers into one body.”

I love John Adams. But he was a bit of a religious nut on some things. You do know his constitution in Massachusetts was soon amended to take out some of his religious silliness?

Jefferson? Kept his own children in slavery.

The founders began by doing what? By regulating Government. Keep that in mind. It is Government that must be regulated or the power it gets may indeed be used against the Governments masters, the citizens.

You appear confused. Going with Junior High School History lessons makes you look foolish

Myths are important, but one must remember they are more symbolic than actual.

When citizens are by the system of Government at the pinnacle of the food chain, it means Government is not our rulers, but our servants. Democrats are very confused as to rights.
Do you support the actions and views of Donal J. Trump on this?

NONE of them should be.

The USA National Justices should be voted on by the people, not government appointed.
The government should NEVER be able to vote for itself.

Absolutley ******* NO!!!!

The idea of elected judges is ludacris.

Who was Washington? A super rich man. Most citizens are not aware of how rich George Washington really was. Study his property at Mt Vernon to get a hint. Now Washington wanted to keep his wealth so he went to war against the then legal government that happened to be in Great Britian. Remind you much of when Davis was picked as president and he defended the south from the rulers in DC?

Excellent fact work that will send the feelers and America haters into a froth

Wrong. As per usual.

Thomas is the most corrupt, as well as the most unqualified justice ever to be appointed to the bench. He is a corporate lackey, which is why he was appointed.

As per usual, this population of grifters needs it's figure heads of crooked dumbasses, to sell it's anti government narrative to it's population of dumbass supporters.

God didn't give us anything, much less the Constitution. We are a government, of, by, and for the people who gave the Constitution to ourselves, for the mutual benefit of ourselves.

A corporation can't sell dumbasses anything with that unalienable fact hanging out there, can it?

And speaking of Jefferson. You know, that Progressive that actually wrote the Declaration, and believed there should be a very high wall between the church and the state, so eloquently put it this way...

“it may be proved that no society can make a perpetual Constitution, or even a perpetual law. The earth belongs always to the living generation…”

In other words, a living document designed to adapt and change, as society evolves.

But Clarence Thomas, like many conservatives in this misbegotten era, suffers from Fox News brain rot, a condition that encourages them to wallow in the bitterness of their own experience while believing the world is going to hell in a handbasket because of people who refuse to accept the way things are supposed to work.

The perspective of Thomas and others like him has become so warped that they can work themselves into a paranoid frenzy about “progressivism” wielding government power at the expense of the individual, even as they defend a president who is systematically tearing up the Constitution and setting it on fire.
Thomas Jefferson: “Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are . . . the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath?”

George Mason: “The right of the people to participate in the legislature is the best security of liberty, and the foundation of all free government; for this purpose elections ought to be free and frequent.” Thomas Jefferson: “The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground.”

James Iredell: “The only real security of liberty in any country is the jealousy and circumspection of the people themselves. Let them be watchful over their rulers.”

Alexander Hamilton: “An inviolable respect for the Constitution and laws . . . is the vital principle, the sustaining energy, of a free government.”

Why George Washington agree to war against his Sovereign is a story you appear to be totally ignorant on.

Trump makes no rules over me, he simply manages the Government and removes laws and rules against me and other citizens.

Trump makes no rules for you?

So you haven't bought anything since he imposed Import Taxes that wasn't (a) produced outside the United States or (b) produced in the United States but using raw materials sourced from outside the United States?

Be careful how you answer knowing that the US imports 90% of Pot Ash used in manufacturing fertilizer used to grow crops all over the United States.

This shows how warped particular citizens think now.

Thomas is merely 1/9 of the court. Thomas puts in a lot of time in court ensuring he is not part of unjust decisions.
I agree Government is to be our servant. So why don't Democrats understand that?

Laws do what? Laws create criminals. Right now, Democrats refuse to see illegal aliens as criminals. So they want to help the illegals and show their asses to the rest of us, who happen to be legal citizens.

The exact wording is "their creator" not God which means rights are inherent and dont come from the state or our peers. Therefore the state cant take them away and when the government becomes "destructive of these ends it can be altered or abolished." Thats why we have a second amendment.
If youre an atheist you can claim nature is your creator not God. Inherent rights protect you to. Otherwise the state could pass a law putting all the atheists in a gulag. Dont complain abiut t constitution that protects your atheism

I am very aware of what the slave owner did. I have been to his home, saw how rich he was and saw his sheds to help slaves go to sleep. I am aware that but for the French, it is likely he would have lost. The British would of course tell their version of history as the supporters of Lincoln tell his version, though for Lincoln, they forget that he wanted to create a massive government bond and use the money to relocate all blacks to other lands.

Some men are principled. As far as I can tell, John Adams spoke more about "Virtue" than of anything else.

And it reminds me that his flaws maybe stem from this: "Any virtue carried to extremes, becomes a vice." - Aristotle

John Adams is the only "signer" who by choice, did not hold slaves.

and I heard McCullough state that
