A question about rocket fire~and a paradox

Where is the part about the Security Council and the implementation? The General Assembly resolution was just a non binding recommendation. It means nothing without actions by the Security Council.
Whatever, arab countries, surrounding, Israel still have no borders. So sad.

And this is all ancient history in regards to the current rocket fire. Why tinmore do you keep straying from the subject? No other way to really answer the question but to dodge it?

It is very relevant to the rocket fire. Are those rockets really being fired into Israel? That is the question.

It really doesn't matter what your opinion is on the border issue. But the answer is YES! HAMAS is really firing rockets and mortars into Israel.

But more importantly, everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person; and HAMAS has no right to threaten the life, liberty and security of Israelis in pursuit of self-determination.

law -----any land upon which muslims murdered, pillaged or defecated-----remains
****MUSLIM LAND**** forever-------this universal law is demonstrated by dogs whichd
urinate on fire hydrants and then RETURN to urinate and defecate in the same
spot regularly. Therefore----the bombs are legal

I'll play your game.
[] Hamas is NOT firing at Israel but at it's own citizens, but some of the rockets accidentally enter Israel's borders presenting a threat, albeit by accident.
Israel hasq requested for several years that Hamas stop playing this game but Hamas continues, so Israel decided to join the game using more powerful and more accurate toys.

[] Hamas is firing rockets into Israel, thus Israel is responding.

You want IDF based footage, international reports, Hamas footage or a good deal for ticket and hotel in south Israel to witness yourself?

I think our friend "P F Tinmore" is trying to make the point that Israel is inside "Palestine" and therefore the rocket fire is not a violation of international law.

He doesn't understand that HAMAS Rocket and Mortar Fire are a violation of the Laws of Land Warfare (Accepted Customary Rules of International Humanitarian Law, ICRC), whether it is and international armed conflict or not:
  • Rule 11. Indiscriminate attacks are prohibited.
  • Rule 12. Indiscriminate attacks are those:
    (a) which are not directed at a specific military objective;
    (b) which employ a method or means of combat which cannot be directed at a specific military objective; or
    (c) which employ a method or means of combat the effects of which cannot be limited as required by international humanitarian law; and consequently, in each such case, are of a nature to strike military objectives and civilians or civilian objects without distinction.

My assumption was, that he understood the General ICRC Rules.

P F Tinmore, et al,

You say this all the time.

I didn't say that. By 1948 the Jews owned about 7% of the land. But it was still Palestinian land.

The Jews own land in the US too and it is still US land.

The UN (not US) partition plan, resolution 181, was passed in the General Assembly in 1947. It recommended that the Security Council divide the land. The Security Council failed to act on it and it was never implemented.

Resolution 181 didn't happen.

The action arm, for the US Security Council was the UN Palestine Commission.

International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People 2014 - International Year of Solidarity with the Palestinian People said:
Pursuant to General Assembly resolution 32/40 B of 2 December 1977, the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is observed annually on or around 29 November, solemnly commemorating the adoption by the Assembly, on 29 November 1947, of resolution 181 (II), which provided for the partition of Palestine into two States. The observance is held at United Nations Headquarters, the United Nations Offices at Geneva and Vienna and elsewhere.

During today's brief meeting, Dr. Eduardo Morgan (Panama) said that this resolution of the Assembly merely "relieves responsibility. The Commission has not been dissolved. In fact the resolution of last November 29 has been implemented."

I guess evidence doesn't count. Maybe you can go to New York this November and celebrate with them?

The scenarios are not comparable. Mexico ceded land to the US in a post war treaty. Some was purchased by the US.

There has been no treaty ceding land to Israel.

So there were no land purchases by the Jews in the late 1800's? Early 1900's? And though not a 'treaty' by the same standards, what was the US partition plan then?

I didn't say that. By 1948 the Jews owned about 7% of the land. But it was still Palestinian land.

Resolution 181 didn't happen.

On 29 November 1947, the United Nations General Assembly voted 33 to 13, with 10 abstentions and 1 absent, in favour of the modified Partition Plan.

You say that all the time, Rocco, but:

Where are those proposed borders?

Where is that international city of Jerusalem?

Where are the equal rights for the non Jewish inhabitants?

When was land transferred to the Jewish state?

which provided for the partition of Palestine into two States.

We neglect to mention that it was Palestine that was to be divided. That gave the Palestinians the right to put a stop to that plan.

You do this all the time. Whenever Rocco dismantles your claim, you start to ask irrelevant questions.
And it is not Rocco who says it all the time, it's those he is quoting that are saying it.

For ***** sake, PALESTINE used Resolution 181 as a basis for their DOI.

Tinmore is like the useless loop that drains your cell phone.

'When was land transfered to the Jewish State'

How did you cone to the conclusion that land needed to be transferred to the Jews in order for them to legally declare independence?

BTW, your statement that Israel is inside Palestine is a lie. As a matter of fact, Palestine is inside Israel:

OK, but why does he keep quoting it when he knows, or should know, that it is false? Look at the facts on the ground. There isn't a trace of resolution 181 anywhere. The Palestinians rejected it. Israel rejected it before it mentioned it in its declaration and it would not accept it now.

Some people still mention it to foster a political agenda but it is quite dead.

One of the tenets of a state is a defined territory.

That is a crazy map you have there.:lol::lol:You can walk from the Palestinian territory of the West Bank to the Palestinian territory of Gaza without crossing a border. So where, exactly, is Israel? You can walk north from either the West Bank or Gaza and the first border you will cross will be either the international border between Lebanon and Palestine or the international border between Syria and Palestine. So where, exactly, is Israel?
