I would presuppose the OP has a point. According to the Chief Actuary of the Socialist Security Administration about 75 percent of the undocumented foreigners get an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number and pay taxes. Additionally, some states are now bucking to force undocumented foreigners get a driver's license (and the states can do so constitutionally.)

Many aren't looking for jobs. Many qualify for government subsidies to the tune of 1.2 billion per years as of 2017.
That figure will double every two years at the current rate of border crossings.

Mark my word, pensions are about to start failing nationwide VERY soon. Someone's got to pay for all these illegals and pension pools are an easy target (especially since in most Democrat areas, they are unfunded to begin with). Detroit will go first. Then NewYork.

There is a problem. Of that, there is no debate. The real problem is in the proposed solutions that those who obsess over the immigration issue propose. The politicians, especially Donald Trump, will tell you what you want to hear because a lot of it will not pass constitutional muster. After it fails, the politicians can tell you they tried, but what did they really do?

The peripheral legislation - that is those laws supposedly passed to aid immigration officials in enforcing the laws are only measures that weaken the Constitution, give government an enormous amount of power, and prevent you from resisting tyranny in the future. Adding insult to injury, those funding the current political rhetoric about a wall (and other such nonsense) were the very ones that made the legal rhetoric a legally unsustainable argument.

Of all the arguments the right uses (and a recent online test I took said I was 76 percent conservative) the one about "they're stealing our jobs" is the most ludicrous of all their arguments.

Private property is a hallmark of our constitutional Republic. In theory, you own your home once you've paid the mortgage off, own your car once you've made the last payment, and you have intellectual property rights for any song or book you may have written. In theory, the business you create is yours and you can even have exclusive use of the name of your business if you pay to have the name protected in some manner (copyright the name, reserve it at the state level, etc.) So, why do those who obsess over immigration make this specious argument that foreigners are taking the jobs of Americans? How can anyone take or steal a job that didn't belong to the American public in the first place?

We don't live in a socialist country just yet. However, the people who obsess over the immigration debacle are tipping their hand, only to reveal where they really stand on the political spectrum.
