If this biblical verse is accurate, then how does one explain the existence of Satan, who was, after all, created by God?

18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither. ... 17 Even so, every good tree produces good fruit; but the corrupt tree produces evil fruit.
Matthew 7:17–18

What about satan?

Fruits are indicative of behavior, not offspring

Because evil - which is the absence of good - exists so that good can come from it.

We are being tested.

Lucifer wasn't created evil. He became evil when he selfishly chose to reject God's perfect will, convinced 1\3 of the angels to also reject God's perfect will and then started an active rebellion in heaven.

After being cast to the earth, Satan then continued his rebellion by convincing mankind to reject God's perfect will as well. A calling Satan continues in to this day.

Evil isn't the opposite of good, because as powerful as Satan is, he isn't God's opposite. Evil is the selfish rejection of good, which is God's perfect will.
