Read the thread again (posts #12, 15). Ga’ava are not being banned for their religious faith. From what I've read on Reddit, they're being asked not to participate due to their support for Israel, which is committing genocide against Palestinians.

A group that promotes gay rights doesn't want to remain in the company of a group that actively promotes a genocidal regime, which Israel absolutely is. The rest of this thread has been about whether Israel is legitimate or not and deviated from the topic in the OP.

So, it's ok to support Canada when they violate the rights of citizens, have a record number of prisoners in prison even though they haven't been found guilty of a crime (some wait many months even a year to see a judge and only 30% actually are found guilty and given prison time), how about engaging in transnational exporting of China-made goods through slave labour and undermining U.S and Canadian companies and employees?

I could go on for another 10 pages, another 100 pages if I included my own personal saga.

As for Israel's 'right to exist', my default position for many years, especially in the years following 9/11/01, was that Israel was our ally in the war on terror. I believed in Israel. Then Israel showed me who they really were when they indiscriminately bombed Southern Lebanon, continued to encourage illegal settlements in the West Bank, and choked off Gaza, despite technically withdrawing forces there.

Once one really begins reading the true history of the region and the conflict, it's impossible to be pro-Israel unless one is a committed Zionist and believes in a Greater Israel that forever expands beyond its current borders.

And when one considers the degree to which Zionists embed themselves in our politics and in the politics of Western allies, it's impossible to view them as an ally or friend. Israel manipulates American public opinion. They and their activists manipulate our political system and weaponize our military and economic system, not for the benefit of Americans living in the Heartland or Rust Belt, but for the people of Tel Aviv and "God's chosen people" worldwide.

Again, you are deflecting from my point and I know you understand it so I'm not sure why you resist acknowledging the fact. A simple, "your point is granted and I agree that no one should be collectively banned based on their heritage or religion"

I support Judaism. I am a self-identified Noahide. I support the existence of Israel and it's existence as a home for Jews and those who support Israel. For the record, I support the same of Saudi Arabia for those who are ardent Muslims, want to visit mecca etc.

Irrespective of the veracity of the claims which vary widely, worse in the fog of war and propaganda; of course I do not or would not support these activities.

Based on this logic I should also be banned from attending any events that Jews are banned from attending. This is a violation of our Charter of Rights and Freedoms and just as individuals like myself and so many have had their rights violated, there are some who want to normalize this.

And where should we place this home for Jews? How big should it be? Should it be in present-day Israel or should it include Jordan, Syria, Iran, Lebanon? Where do Israel's boundaries end? Should Israel have a reservation in the Western United States, too?
