We went together to school in Athens, Greece. We were teammates and good friends. He was multi-talented and finally decided to go with music. He produced several albums and played with the Orchestra with former members of ELO.

I am curious if anyone knew him or of him. May he rest in peace. I was only 19 days older, now 20 I guess.

Sorry for your loss.

wtf?

Your humanity just broke through. Empathy here my friend. You know, the things Randian Objectivists and Conservative Christians argue is sin?

But I digress. I really do 'feel' empathy and even sympathy here.

Why?

Not too long ago (3 years ago), I lost a young friend who danced with the Angel of Death - his empathy was used to torture him. His caring and empathy were astounding. He would become so full of self loathing whenever he was faced with his flaws, flaws that were brought about through anger, frustration, delusions run rampant --- his delusions were fed by the violence of drug abuse, booze, along mental and emotional deficits.

But he was an extremely talented artist and a pretty cool musician. He was only 36 years old when he was found in an alley/walkway (down the street from my apt building) with a stringer nearby. He was not a childhood friend. I have many of those. But a friend none the less.

Weird. His death haunts me more than most others. An I am finally onto why. It's not comforting.

Peace & Love
