A 29-year-old Afghan national Identified As Shooter of National Guard Members in Washington, D.C.

I understand. The more guns being safer thing only counts if you know somebody is going to shoot you that day, right? The troops were pretty heavily armed. They had no idea someone might shoot at them? Why do you think they were so heavily armed? Were they planning to shoot people on the street?
Don’t be stupid. The guns are for those occasions when they’re interdicting crime or arresting criminals and they encounter resistence If it were a combat situation you might have a point. But alas…

Or maybe he did support the US, had to flee his native land, and then after 4 years, became embittered over his lack of opportunities.
he should a moved to your favorite country that's ruled by the CCP.. eh ??

2021. The federal government brought him in on an Afgan ally program.
2021: Joe Biden brought him in.

''The Averting Loss of Life and Injury by Expediting SIVs Act (ALLIES) Act was approved by a 407-16 vote on July 22. The 16 "no" votes were all from Republicans.''

He wouldn't have shot Americans if he wasn't here. So there is that.
So, why did he do it? Why wasn't he on the FBI radar? And Homeland security WAS CREATED to prevent this type crap after 9/11....where were they, busy deporting grandmas and church pastors? Who else is involved? Are citizens still at risk?

These above questions are pertinent. Whether Trump or Biden were the President, matters not....imo.

Also being reported by CBS News.

The suspect has been identified as Rahmanullah Lakanwal, a 29-year-old Afghan national who entered the U.S. in 2021, multiple law enforcement sources confirmed to CBS News. Law enforcement said he is believed to have acted alone.

If the National Guard were not called up and deployed in D.C. for domestic law enforcement, the guardsmen would not have been shot by him...... :rolleyes-41:

So, there is that.

Two can play that game, but a useless game, none the less!

Because they are rich and people would try to kidnap or rob them.

Nobody is looking to kidnap you and a gun in your house is 43 times more likely to kill a family member than a bad guy.
A subsequent study, again by Kellermann, of fatal and non-fatal gunshot woundings, showed that only 14.2% of the shootings involving a gun whose origins were known, involved a gun kept in the home where the shooting occurred. (Kellermann, et. al. 1998. "Injuries and deaths due to firearms in the home." Journal of Trauma 45:263-267) ("The authors reported that among those 438 assaultive gunshot woundings, 49 involved a gun 'kept in the home where the shooting occurred,' 295 involved a gun brought to the scene from elsewhere, and another 94 involved a gun whose origins were not noted by the police.") (Kleck, Gary. "Can Owning a Gun Really Triple the Owner's Chances of Being Murdered?" Homicide Studies 5 <2001>.)

Hardly, the Guard was deployed because Democrat rule turned the nation's capital into a crime ridden cesspit. Something had to be done and now crime has dropped significantly. Which simply does not compare to bringing in unvetted foreigners by a reckless and feckless failed administration like Biden's.

15th post
And did they say, how or who he got the gun from? Can people granted asylum, qualify to get a gun? I'm not certain??!?

First, YOU DO NOT KNOW WHY he shot those NGs.
  1. Was it over Trump?
  2. Was it over immigration?
  3. Was it over interference in the flow of drugs from Mexico?
  4. Was it over things said in the media by idiot democrats calling the NG fascists?
Second, the guy probably would have shot someone else had those NG not been there. Maybe it would have been a city cop. Pretty interesting that it happened close to the White House--- what, couldn't this guy find a NG somewhere in his own city?

Besides, someone walking around with a gun looking to shoot armed National Guardsmen is probably not a model citizen and he has probably killed before and would have done so again--- so good riddance.

HE was the problem, not a couple of NGs standing on a street corner minding their own business.

Horrid argument, and I hope you know it.

"If you don't like being in a bad neighborhood try not growing up poor"....your argument

I'm a lot more interested in the immigration court proceedings that granted the perp asylum this past April.

I suspect there's a lot to unwrap there.

Or perhaps there isn't.

Perhaps he's just like so many other "normal" guys who just decided to snap one day and go on a shooting spree. Or as I like to call them, "NRA Poster Children".

I suspect like most mass shooters, we'll find out two things.

1) People in his personal life knew there was something off.
2) He still had absolutely no problem acquiring a gun.
