This incident brings a question to mind. DC is the seat of our government, with the House, Senate, the president and all his staff, and countless other dignitaries from the US and most other countries. Each of those mentioned is a potential target, and requires around the clock armed security. Add the 2700 armed National Guard Troops, and thousands of armed DC police, and that makes DC the most armed city in the country. More guns per square foot than anywhere else in the country. Possibly more than anywhere else in the world. Gun nuts are fond of saying more guns make us safer. If more guns make us safer, how did those two guard troops get shot so easily?
