I didn’t say people here legally who are non citizens could not have a voice. I said no voting rights. There is a difference.

Why should they have any voice in our government? They are foreigners. They are beholden to a foreign government.

They don't have a voice in government beyond a school board overseeing the schools where their kids attend.

Whitley's office, along with the Texas Department of Public Safety, had been investigating possible voter fraud for the last year, according to a news release. Of the 95,000 non-citizens registered, 58,000 have voted in one or more elections since 1996.​

This is due to the "convenience" of being able to register to vote when you get your drivers license or get it renewed. But you do not have to be a US citizen to get a drivers license, so why do they do that? I've lived in a lot of places and I've never had a problem making a one time trip to the Town Hall/City Hall to register to vote. It's not like getting a root canal or something.

In Maine the legislature is currently considering making voter registration automatic when you renew your license. Now hold on a minute. What if you don't WANT to be registered? Not to mention the problem above.
