Even liberals who've accomplished a lot in their lives and have high IQs often say things on a regular basis that are stunningly, profoundly stupid and at odds with the way the world works. Modern liberalism has become so bereft of common sense and instinctually suicidal that America can only survive over the long haul by thwarting the liberal agenda. In fact, liberalism has become such a toxic and poisonous philosophy that most liberals wouldn't behave differently if their goal were to deliberately destroy the country. So, how does liberalism cause well-meaning, intelligent liberals to get this way? Well, it starts with...

One could substitute Conservative and essentially get the same article.

1. Conservatism creates a feedback loop.

2. Conservatives sources of information are ever present.
Substitute local newspaper for Wall St Journal, school for church/Jesus Camp, NPR for Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, or Michael Savage, and local news for Fox News.

3) Conservatives emphasize acting superior, not superior results.
Conservatives stick to their talking points even when stuff like math and numbers contradict them. And if someone is persistent, then they must be a socialist.

4) Conservatives are big believers in moral absolutes.
Through two holy texts The Bible and Atlas Shrugged, with the latter superseding the former, conservatives can discriminate against minorities and simultaneously shower the wealthy with welfare.

5) Conservatives tend to view themselves as individuals, and not as a member of a group.
This can lead to rather bizarre disparities when say freshman Tea Party congressman Andy Harris (R-MD) wanted to know what he would do for 28 days before his government healthcare kicked in, yet believes the public option is socialism that is destroying aMerica.

6) Conservatives take a dim view of societal responsibility.
If a disproportionate group within a society is imprisoned or impoverished is it each member within that group's fault or a structural flaw with the society? The conservatives would tend to say good and the liberals would tend to say racist.

7) Conservatives give themselves far too much credit just for being conservative.
Too many conservatives.To many conservatives, all one needs to do to be afraid, inteligent, intransigent, close minded, and insensitive is to BE CONSERVATIVE.

The problem with your graph dear boy is fascism is not conservative. It is another breed of socialism. A better way to look at political systems is are they collectivist or individualist in nature. Individualist governments are by their very nature conservative. Collectivist governments on the other hand are not.

Please feel free to demonstrate the differences between a subject of the Soviet Union under Stalin and a German subject under Hitler.
