7 people shot inside Mall of Louisiana, building locked down; incident involves 'weapon or weapons'

According to every other metric the UK sucks.
Lets be honest, if you can. Every country has its pros and cons, different people value different things.

The term "better" is therefore pretty subjective.

If school shootings are a worry then the UK is better in that respect, if going bankrupt when you get sick in your 70's is a concern then the UK is better, if being shot by the police is a concern then the UK is better.

If you value warmer climates the US is better, if you value cheap gas the US is better, if you prefer space, uncrowded life the US is better.

Red states and cities are getting jobs. People are fleeing to FL, Texas and TN

Not really. Let's look at who's moving to Florida

Florida continues to experience high population growth, driven by retirees, remote workers, and families seeking a warm climate and no state income tax, with over 50,000 households moving from New York alone. Major influxes also come from California, New Jersey, and Illinois, with significant international migration from Cuba, Haiti, and Colombia, largely targeting South and Central Florida.

Retirees aren't working. So jobs aren't why they are going to Florida. And these people already made their money. Boomers. So of course they flock to where there is no state income tax. What they find when they get there is they can't afford home insurance. One way or another, they get you in Florida. No taxes? How about toll roads? They got those.

Remote workers? Those are rich workers. And of course if you learned during covid you could do your job remotely from some other state, why wouldn't you move out of NYC and go live in Florida.

ALSO, consider this. No one up north envies anyone who lives in Florida year round. It's only nice in Florida 4 months out of the year. The rest it's super hot and sticky. I don't think it's like that in California.

Lastly, like I said before, let's do what you are doing to California to Trump's America. How is America doing? It's doing worse than California. More people are leaving America than coming in. And less Americans are having kids because of Trumpflation and affordability problems. Trump has made things worse too with his illegal tariff scam and war he said he would not do.

Tragic, and inconsistent with the silly mantra "greatest country". The level of violence in a supposedly civilized nation is ridiculous.
Your country is falling apart. Why don't you focus on that instead?
We have freedom.
You don't.

Red State shitholes have these problems. The gun murder rate is 50% higher in red states.

The UK is worse than pretty much every part of the USA. The only positives that the UK has is The Goodwood Festival of Speed, and the Isle of Man TT. Silverstone is also a great race track.

Other than that the UK is a not very nice place to live.

Their motor racing is superior to ours, no question.
But other than that ... nada.

And even the best food in the UK is questionable.

Retirees aren’t working but their purchasing

Rich people are moving there too, as you point out…they buy things too

Hence why families are moving there, there is work.

It’s also just really dirty, Englanders are really gross people, which has resulted in a massive rat problem

Rich people love California too are you kidding me?

Harry Dresden retired from the post office. Of course he had to leave. On his PENSION? He chose that career. And notice he didn't go carry mail in Texas. Then he couldn't afford Texas either. Different pension plan I'm sure.

I'm just telling you who's moving to Florida. It's not middle class people.

And didn't I post something that said I'm wrong? I guess business' are flocking to Florida. Good! You can have our unemployable. They can't fit in here so maybe they'll be perfect floridiots. But they'll find an affordability problem when they get there.

And rich people, btw, don't live there year round. Florida wants to raise their taxes to help pay for year round floridiots. It's a good idea. Let the rich pay more so the poor pay less. Wonder why us liberals didn't think of that. LOL

Sorry, can't look up the details to discuss. You have to subscribe. So I'm sure you didn't even read the link you posted. If you did, cut and paste it. Where are they going? Texas? Gross. I'm sure they are not happy about that.

And they better not go to Texas.

A November 2025 Florida Atlantic University poll reveals nearly 50% of Florida residents have considered moving out of state due to an intense affordability crisis. Driven by skyrocketing housing costs, high insurance premiums, and, according to a WPTV report, 90% concern over inflation, residents are feeling "squeezed" by the high cost of living.

Also, you say they are wealthy and leaving? Where did they make that wealth? California? They didn't make that money in Texas. People in Texas don't make that kind of money. It's why it's so cheap there.

Exactly you idiot. Man I wish I had a state I could move to where I could sell my $200K condo and go buy a $50K condo. That's exactly what you did. You basically bought a home and the value went way up, now you can take that $820K and go live in Texas like a king. Buy you a little chickita and live out the rest of your days. But I hope you have Medicare. So you rely on the government still right?

Don't you get a pension from the post office? Government cheese? Do you ever say thank you ungrateful?

Oh, and no one wants to move to Nevada. Howard Stern makes fun of Ronnie all the time for moving out there in the over 100 degree days. Ridiculous.

Ronnie made a fortune in NY but now that he retired like you he moved to NV. Because he doesn't like the cold and $. But no one wants to live there or Florida year round. All the people I know there year round are miserable 8 months and happy 4. Here we just come down and visit you for 4 months and the rest of the year, we are in heaven. You are in hell. Sorry you had to downgrade to NV. You know it was a downgrade.

You got a raise? You make more in NV than in CA? Wow. That's actually great if true. Happy for you on that.

Las Vegas experiences its hottest days typically in July, with temperatures frequently exceeding 100°F and sometimes hitting record highs of 117°F–120°F. Extreme heat waves often occur in July, with 2024 setting a new record of 120°F. Average summer daily highs in July reach 105°F, with around 70 days a year exceeding 100°F

On average, Las Vegas experiences about 137 days per year with temperatures reaching or exceeding 90°F (32°C).

Las Vegas has a hot, desert climate where temperatures exceed 80°F (

) for a significant portion of the year, spanning roughly late April through early October.

Oh it’s just an article highlighting how the rich are fleeing Cali

Florida is getting an population boom, same with Texas who’s added 2.5 million people since 2020

Yea it's cheap to live there in Texas.

Maybe you can provide links of articles you can actually read. Not just because you like the headlines. Details matter but not to right wing dopes like you.

Sorry but you can stop using Texas as an example of a well run Republican state. You have too much coastline and warm weather. Of course rich people move there, part time.

Driven by soaring housing costs, high insurance premiums, and limited early-career job opportunities, significant numbers of young professionals (aged 20–29) and working-age residents are leaving Florida. While the state still sees net migration, the boom has cooled considerably, with many citing rising costs and congestion for moving to more affordable states like Georgia, Texas, and North Carolina.
Texas I'll give you. Sounds good. Affordable, culture, etc. Lot of hispanics in Texas right? 40% of Texas is Hispanic.
But I see in Texas average weekly wages are lower than the national average
Quite a turnaround
  • Cost of Living Impact: Despite no state income tax, rising housing and daily costs mean a significant salary is needed for a "comfortable" life.
  • Job Growth: Employment, particularly in leisure and hospitality, is expected to grow significantly, with many jobs focusing on food service management.
  • Rankings: A 2022 report ranked Texas 48th in a "Best States to Work" index, noting low wages and limited worker protections
Don't forget you guys have a big green energy industry in Texas
Texas leads the nation in wind energy with over 15,300 to 19,464+ wind turbines operating as of 2023–2026, accounting for more than 26% of all U.S. wind-sourced electricity. The state hosts 230+ utility-scale wind projects, primarily concentrated in the Panhandle and West Texas, and holds more turbines than the next three highest-ranked states combined

I love it that Texas of all places has the most windmills. LOL.

You are missing the essential one. Texas is running out of water.
