So President Trump announced today that even the Democrats acknowledge the CBO predicts his tariffs will lower the deficit by $4 TRILLLION over the next decade!!!! That is awesome! So much for his policies and/or the BBB swelling the deficit by trillions. (Are you paying attention Elon?)

But is that the most important thing to the American public right now? Apparently not. A new Rasmussen poll out shows that 62% of likely voters want the next big policy push to be continuing work on draining the swamp. President Trump, most likely due to Democrat lawfare, didn't have time to get much done on that in his first term. Voters want that to be at or near the top in the priorities now.

With the current swamp hand-picked by him, who is he looking to boot out of the new swamp?

That would require Mike Johnsonless, Lurch Thune, and Pam Blondi to get up off their dead asses and get on the stick...

Several in the swamp are elected officials.

I doubt there are many, if any at all, in the current Trump Administration who will be revealed as swamp creatures. Yes there are still probably a lot among the federal bureaucracy and it will take some time to identify and ferret all those out. His Administration has made a good start on that though.

As for representatives and senators, all he can realistically can do there is expose their corruption unless they commit a serious federal crime for which they can be indicted and that won't happen unless Bondi is certain there is sufficient evidence to get a conviction.

The current top tariff rates may not hold as negotiations with trading partners and international legal challenges are ongoing.

But the additional tariff revenue could help offset the deficit increases triggered by the Republicans' tax-cut and spending bill passed this year. CBO estimated this would widen the deficit by $3.4 trillion over the next decade.

Meaning the tariffs US consumers will pay are close to a budget tradeoff, with the real beneficiaries being corporate profits and the wealthy. The transitory benefit to middle/low income tax payers from the tax cut is scheduled to go away in 2029. But they'll still be paying tariff related higher prices by then unless they are repealed by the next prez.

Thanks fer the tax increase...

I gather the swamp will have been mostly drained before those elections . Though ramifications will last for years .
Some legal/court cases will inevitably still be in process .

I shall be interested to see if some matters are military tribunals as hinted and whether executions result .

Public ( TV) executions could act as a superb deterrent and give sky high ratings .

I would pay money to watch the Clintons and Obummer etc die on screen .

I honestly wish no harm to either the Obamas or Clintons. I just want them exposed for the evil they have done, be stripped of all ability to harm America ever again, and for them to just go away.

The problem with the deep state is that it is so invisible. And after the Clinton and Obama/Biden administrations, the majority of three million federal employees are liberal democrats. Hopefully that will change if we can keep MAGAs in power long enough to be able to balance that population with more conservatives who hadn't been welcome in government for a long time now.

Some of those liberal employees are deep state but it takes time to figure out who they are. It isn't like they wear a sign that says I hate America and Americans and I am doing everything I can to derail and harm the Trump Administration and the MAGA vision.

Plenty of original swamp creatures to dispose of, with the current team in place to assist the President in this endeavor.

You are dealing with mentally unhinged people -- most likely psychopaths and at minimum sociopaths .
That is not the best way to deal with broken and dangerous people -- -- kill them .
At the same time , set a deterrent for at least some of the next generation of precisely the same types .

Term limits. Just term limits
I honestly don't want term limits. There are legislators who absolute love their job and do it extremely competently and tenure gives them experience and knowledge that incoming newbies won't have. That keeps us from having to reinvent the wheel with each new Congress.

What I do want is to make those legislators unable to profit from their positions more than just their salaries. We might have to increase those salaries a bit so that those of modest means can run for office, but there should be no generous expense accounts, no pension, no government provided healthcare, no speaker fees or other gifts allowed, etc. Legislators should not be allowed to buy and sell stock and would have to recuse themselves from voting on any issue that would affect investments they already have. They will not be exempt from any legislation, rules, regs they impose on the people.

In that way the self-serving professional politicians will no longer bother to run for office as there will be no profit in it for them, and true citizen public servants will again be in those leadership roles. Term limits then become necessary. Most will serve for awhile and then go home to live under the laws they pass. But those who love what they do and are good at it can stay.

Our elected leaders will no longer be in the swamp.

Since you’ve brought it up...any indictments from all of the fraud DOGE said they found nearly half a year ago?

Since there hasn’t been any...isn’t it safe to say that your imaginary swamp is alive and well?

Not a fan of term limits because it moves the power from people (as flawed as they are) to a political party machine which is unencumbered by anything.

We'll have to disagree on that one. I prefer to go the route of taking the personal profit out of government other than their authorized salaries. Then people as you describe won't bother to run for office. Problem solved.

You are in the wrong Universe
I am not talking about junior management -- ---compromised clowns .

You start with the International Bankers and the leaders and link people to the Military -Intelligence who run the Breakaway Civilisation -- the Black projects funded by the Bankers .

People heading party political shenanigans are small fry but still need some sort of punishment .
