The Russian fleet in the Caspian Sea has launched 18 cruise missiles, hitting seven terrorist targets in Syria on Friday, Russian Defense Minster Sergey Shoigu has reported to President Vladimir Putin.

“On November 20, the warships of the Caspian Fleet launched 18 cruise missiles at seven targets in the provinces of Raqqa, Idlib and Aleppo. All targets were hit successfully,” he said.

Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) are suffering huge losses as a result of the Russian offensive, Shoigu said, adding that data on the ground shows that the flow of terrorists arriving in Syria has decreased, while more and more militants are fleeing the warzone to head north and south-west.

Over the past four days, Russian air forces have conducted 522 sorties, deploying more than 100 cruise missiles and 1,400 tons of bombs of various types, the minister stated.

He added that a strike with multiple cruise missiles in the province of Deir ez-Zor had killed more than 600 militants.

Shoigu stressed that the number of aircraft taking part in the operation has been doubled and now consists of 69 jets conducting 143 sorties on a daily basis.

He also added that the Russian military has started cooperating with its French counterparts, as ordered by President Putin.

The Defense Ministry has published a video showing Russian servicemen at the Khmeimim airbase in Syria writing ‘For our people’ and ‘For Paris’ on bombs that were later dropped on the terrorists.

Yesterday Colonel General Andrey Kartapolov, General Staff spokesman, told journalists: "The militants have admitted the death of 'Abu Nurlbagasi', 'Muhammad ibn Khayrat' and 'Al-Okab' as a result of Russian airstrikes in the area of Aleppo.”

"In order to conceal the true number of casualties, the evacuation of the dead and wounded militants is carried out in the dark,”the spokesman added."According to our data, due to heavy losses and the inability to bury all of the eliminated terrorists in accordance with Islamic tradition, the commanders decided to dump the bodies of ordinary militants in sewage pits."

I love body-count math, is so wonderfully flexible.

And for a group that expects to have 95% die, it's part of the prophecy, I very much doubt they are deeply concerned.

Bombing the Russian plane, colossal mistake by ISIS. Russia / NATO bickering over who influences Syria was the thing keeping any real action against ISIS from going down. Now everyone wants to smoke them, and will cooperate in doing so.

Okay, not everyone. The Turks and Saudis, our supposed "allies", are still covertly backing ISIS. But that won't save them.

How convincing 600 dead...Did anyone confirmed these numbers aside Russians?
There is an independent group consist of Arab nationals that monitor war in Syria and wondering why they are not saying anything. Also if you know that you are going to get bomb....... Are you going to stay in your house or building?

Frankly, if they were smart, they fled north and south-west. I don't think anyone really doubted that Russia was going to have a tantrum when one of their planes got bombed, and now they've got France in there helping them to decimate the area.

Also Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to President Vladimir Putin on Friday that Russian warplanes destroyed 15 oil refining and storage facilities in Syria and 525 trucks carrying oil during this week's bombing blitz. He said this deprived IS of $1.5 million in daily income from oil sales.

A couple of days ago the Russian president has issued orders for Russia’s Moskva cruiser, covering the Russian base in Latakia from the Mediterranean Sea, to work together with a French naval group led by flagship Charles De Gaulle, a 26 fighter-jet aircraft carrier, which is departing for Syria this week.

“The French naval group, led by the air carrier, will soon reach your area of operations. We need to establish direct contact with it, and treat it as an ally,”the Russian president said. “We need to develop of a joint action plan for both sea and air operations.”

The Kremlin said that the parameters for a joint mission had been agreed upon by Putin and French President Francois Hollande, following a personal phone call.

“The two leaders focused their attention on bilateral and multilateral cooperation in combating terrorism,”a Kremlin statement said.“This includes closer ties and joint operations between the military command and intelligence services of Russia and France in Syria.”

Vladimir Putin and Francois Hollande are to meet in Moscow on November 26.
