I have the feeling gasoline will stay around $5.00 per gallon here in California, so I put in an order for a new 2023 Yamaha XSR900 naked bike.
It's a triple cylinder in an aluminum frame weighing 425 lbs. sporting Bridgestone Battlax tires. It's lighter than an R-1, less expensive, and way more comfortable to ride.

The only thing "retro" about this bike is the round headlamp and the tank styling.
The 2023 is the same as the 2022 model.

Delete that hideous license plate arm and that thing would look good!

Cool looking bike but if your goal was to save on gas costs, you could have bought this beautiful classic car for far less.

Not that I would ever want to, but it has a top speed of 150 mph. My 2012 FZ8 was factory set at 140 and after reflashing I remember looking at the speedo at 148 once and it was still pulling. My 2016 FZ09 was set at 130 and I never bothered to look at that speedo, anyhow.

Done that a time or 20 on my old Vmax. My 1972 H2 triple wobbled at 125. Never tried any more with that beast. Handled like a shopping cart but 0-100 empied the tears from your eye sockets. It had a Paul Gast 110 kit. Wouldn't hook good but 10.40 quarters were kinda sorta do-able. On the street , from a 30 mph punch, nothing came close

Thanks to no steering damper and alot of rake (H2) Back in the old days over-tightening the headstock bearings would help. My 2010 Ducati 848 came w/o a damper. Had a few low speed shakes that scared the crap out of me.
