This is why we need laws to keep; you asshole toters from putting people at risk every time you go out in public with a loaded gun.

Accident? Stupid maneuver that should never had happened. If that is all the safer you assholes can carry a gun, we should definately make it illegal.

A majority on the Left certainly wants to keep the 2nd and just add some restrictions. There's a reasonable argument on both sides of that issue. Fair enough.

The problem is - and we've seen them on this board, not to mention elsewhere - that there are indeed those who would repeal it. And those people make an easy target - um, no pun intended - for the Right, which can then issue accusations like this.

Yet another example of why the wings in the country are impeding progress. I wonder how many more we'll tolerate before the middle has had enough.

Restrictions are not reasonable because they only affect law abiding citizens. Criminals do not give a shit about restrictions

There are laws and restrictions and regulations on pretty much everything. That's how we do things in a dynamic, complicated civilization.

The question if finding a proper equilibrium with which enough people can agree. Those who want absolutism, on one end or the other, simply are not thinking reasonably.
