Mostly occurred only in Central Europe and in Holy Roman Empire regions of Germany and Austria etc.

Literally had mercenary gangs roaming the country side and brutally murdering, raping and destroying everything in site. They literally had little govt funding and resources and would roam around towns and villages taking everything at will !!

War started as huge religious conflict between Christians but later became political.

This was the end of Spain as a major player and FRANCE was the big victor
