Shootout during Conroe jewelry store robbery leaves one assailant dead, police say

^ A current example of use of AK-47 to chase off armed robbers.
Unfortunately this did lead to one casualty among the robbers.
Had they known the man was armed to this degree, maybe
the robbery and that death could also have been prevented.
But identifying the dead shooter could help find the others. ^

(The story of Korea Town saved from riots in LA
was more about deterrence where nobody died:

Dec 24, 2012 - During the five days, mobs around Los Angeles looted stores, burnt ... in Koreatown who fended off mobs with handguns, rifles and assault weapons. ..... andAR-15's...and are very comfortable using them for all sorts of crime.)

^ I prefer that arms be used for defense and deterrence, but in this Houston jewelry store robbery, there was additional casualty and other consequences, both good and bad. But given what went down, at least no other people got injured or killed.

The only unfortunate thing regarding this incident is the skewed risk/reward logic used by the perpetrators in thinking that in Texas, probably the best armed State in the Union, that they presumed that they could commit an armed robbery without the possibility of facing an armed response from the victim.
As our country descends further into chaos, the only assurance of self-preservation, will be the ability of the victim to have the option to defend his/herself with firearms.
