Brown admits the truth:
Eventually, the
Post and Courier decided it was time to address the matter. This time, Brown's story mentioned an earlier confrontation between his party and two other Wild Wing patrons:
Brown said he and his party had been waiting in the restaurantÂ’s lobby for about an hour when they had a run-in with two white women who attempted to maneuver their way through the crowd to get to the hostessÂ’ counter.
One of the women stepped on his sister-in-lawÂ’s foot and cursed at her, he said. Then, without explanation, the hostess seated those women first before BrownÂ’s party, he said.
BrownÂ’s sister in-law, 28-year-old Chelsea Green of North Charleston, said their group continued to wait for another hour before a manager told them that they werenÂ’t being seated because the two women complained that they felt threatened.
“They should have given us the option to leave and go to another restaurant instead of making us wait around for nothing,” Green said. “It was embarrassing because they made us look like we’re a bunch of criminals.”

The link to the original article from the The POST AND DISPATCH is in the first line of the cited quotation above.
There is also a youtube video on the website link I provided that purports to be a capture of the actual altercation that resulted in Brown's party not being seated.
The girl who was threatened and complained to management that she was threatened was partially deaf.
Just like I said so long ago,
on 8/26, post #162.
The management made them wait because they were attempting to seat the group away from the girl who was threatened.
They were only asked to leave after they started filming...the last straw.
STILL waiting for an apology from Closed Caption
for calling me a liar.
The article you posted, as I read it, says the white woman stepped on the black woman's foot and cursed her. Nothing about the black threatening the white. Still not getting the whole story here.
That's Brown's self serving statement that he conveniently left out when he was contacted originally by Channel 5 News.
Remember, originally he stated:
According to Brown:
She (the shift manager) said thereÂ’s a situation where one of our customers feels threatened by your party, so she asked us not to seat you in our section, which totally alarmed all of us because weÂ’re sitting there peaceably for two hours. Obviously, if we were causing any conflict, we would have been ejected out of the place hours before.

Now he says: Oh yeah, now that there is video, I seem to remember an altercation where a number of my party jumped in the face of a white woman, who told the restaurant staff that she felt threatened, and you know what, that may be why they wouldn't seat us near her...which is what the video shows.
Funny how the mention of security footage can jog ones memory.
Watch the video.
