NOT EVEN CLOSE that the 90s wins big time.

NOT EVEN CLOSE that the 90s wins big time.

Let's be fair. The peak of the mega-block buster movies was between the late 70s to about the mid-90s, when Hollywood had the technology and CGI to make most anything happen on the screen yet hadn't done anything yet so all the ideas were fresh and new.

70s had the most gritty movies and 80s had some fun Nostaligic movies

The 90s was the penacle of both

Early 2000s had some good films in LOTR, No Country for old men, Departed, Gladiator and DARK KNIGHT !!!!

Best year for movies was….

1939.

Gone with the Wind.
Wizard of Oz.
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.
Of Mice and Men.
Goodbye, Mr. Chips.
