12 greatest movies of all time !!!

"Greatest" is very subjective. A couple of Bogart's movies are among my favorites. Treasure Of The Sierra Madre and African Queen come to mind. A few science fiction movies come to mind. Blade Runner (1982), Alien and Aliens.

Based on what I have seen
Do you like this order ??

Oh, and although it is probably sacrilege in this thread, my vote for best remake would be the 2010 True Grit with Jeff Bridges and Hailee Steinfeld.

Yeah-Yeah, I know, and y'all can burn me at the stake or whatever. :auiqs.jpg:

I very much did and do.

But I wanted to try to avoid mentioning more than one film from a particular run or series, although I couldn't help breaking that rule with the current Godzilla series.

So I settled on what I think is the best overall movie of the modern Batman film franchise from 1989 to the present.

You agree DK rises was mediocre ??

Utterly messy plot and story

The Batman was solid yet flawed

It's like 12 favorite songs, or guitar solos or classical music pieces, near impossible to stop at 12

Godfather 1, II
Blade Runner
Alien
K Pax
Gladiator
Field of Dreams
Casablanca
The Silence of the Lambs
Midnight in Paris

etc

I didn't see DK in its entirety, but I saw much of it in bits and pieces, and none of what I saw impressed me.

I also didn't see The Batman in its entirety, but to me, that was the slowest and most tedious opening of any of the Batman movies, and none of the action set pieces had an epic scope or feel to them.

I know the Robert Pattison Batman is going to continue as its own series, but I'm waiting to see what James Gunn does with Batman.

After 37 years of dark cinematic Batman -- aside from the two Joel Schumacher movies -- I think Batman needs to have comic book color again, although not silly like the Adam West Batman, entertaining though that was. Ben Affleck's Batman was a step in the right direction, although that was still too dark.

So we should make it at least a hundred.

1. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

2. Koyaanisqatsi

3. The Ninth Configuration

4. The Godfather

5. The Blues Brothers

6. Blade Runner

By the way. If you have a family member with dementia or Alzheimer's, plop them down in front of Koyaanisqatsi.

Trust me on this.
