Here's a fairly unseen .357 revolver.
Dan Wesson made them for High Standard for a couple of years, a MK II (fixed sight - 10K) and MK III (adjustable sight -15K).
HS wanted to get into the .357 Mag revolver game and since DW was nearing bankruptcy at the time they gladly took the contract for 25K units. I don't know if the entire contract was fulfilled or not.
Other than the markings it's just like DW's Model 15 and uses the same interchangeable barrel system with the "porkchop shroud" as DW's earlier revolvers.....I don't know if it will take the DW straight barrel shrouds when they changed them around late '75 or so.
Oddly enough HS never offered an extra barrel package for them. I suspect because DW was phasing the older model they were building for HS out.
This one is in pretty nice shape with only a bit of light scratching behind the cylinder on the side plate.
LOL....Some of the frame metal is taking on a purplish hue.....Difference in heat treating/metallurgy I suppose.
I love the grips on this one. I gave $400.00 for it.
