1945 No 5 MKI "Jungle Carbine"

I bought this one today....Pretty nice shape. Nice bore. Matching.

The painted finish has chipped here and there.

No US importer's mark.....Must have come in before '68 before it was required.

I have another but it's not as in quite as good a shape so I'll use it as trade fodder.

They think around 10K made it directly from Britian and into the US in the 60s....Most of the later importations (with US import markings) came out of Malaysa and India and were sort of beat.
