I ran across this 1888 Enfield Mk I rifle that had been converted to a .22 single shot by C. G. Bonehill of Birmingham, England.

It's in decent shape and shoots well.....No stock cracks.

It have lived a interesting life being made as a MK I .401 cal. rifle....Converted into a 577/450 MK IV....Then the Bonehill .22 conversion....This one was made for The Society of Miniature Rifle Clubs.

My Dad brought home one in the original caliber, back in the 60's.

We never could figure out what to do with it, as we couldn't find any ammunition.

Seems ..incongruent to me.
What do they do, stuff a sleeve in the barrel?

You're not going to stop a lot of Zulus with a .22.
