1700s Holiday Meal

If you're feeling adventurous.......... This is a whole series of videos.

Cool!

I love 17th, 18th, 19th and early 20th century recipes.

I make floral flavored candies called pastilles, from a medieval recipe, for gifts and wedding favors.

Not only does Jon do 18th century cooking he does a huge array of 18th century educational videos. His father (who recently passed) started a very successful 18th/early 19th century store with Jon. They are one of the primary go to vendors for reenactors of those time periods.

Cool! I love watching how people did things throughout history. I love novels about the pioneers that are very descriptive about what life was like on the westward migration.

I've enjoyed Jon's YT channel for several years now. He's a master at what he does, and his videos are really entertaining. You can tell he's very passionate about what he does and really loves teaching.

My current colonial period living history focus is the 1760s. Too old and well fed to be a soldier/militia reenactor so I just do a moderately successful merchant, well dressed but not exceptionally so who still enjoys hunting. Matter of fact just sold my 1st pattern Long Land (Brown Bess) and accoutrements and ordered a Fusil de Chasse.

Here's a cooking marathon he does of a bunch of different recipes. Some are quite quick including a energy drink that is around 1000 years old.

Probably the most popular ketchup recipes in colonial America and it's not tomato based.........
