The United States Senate has overwhelmingly passed the HALT Fentanyl Act (S.331), which designates fentanyl-related substances as Schedule I drugs under the Controlled Substances Act.

The legislation, sponsored by Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA), was backed by 84 senators...however, 16 Democrats inexplicably voted against the measure.

Their reason? Either blind partisanship or a preference for soft-on-crime policies—I’m leaning toward the latter.

I suspect, they thought the 100 gram trigger for the mandatory 10year sentence was set far too high.

S.331 - HALT Fentanyl Act

Under the bill, offenses involving fentanyl-related substances are triggered by the same quantity thresholds and subject to the same penalties as offenses involving fentanyl analogues (e.g., offenses involving 100 grams or more trigger a 10-year mandatory minimum prison term).

I'd be doing a little investigating as to what their relationships are with China, Mexico or the Cartels.

I guess the crackdown would have hurt more blacks then whites so just let it go. Fentanyl is OK.

.
Well I don't speak C J O...so I'll never know what you meant !

I am no big OMB fan but I love that he pushes LIBs buttons and he does get wheels turning.

I am 69 years old and have missed voting twice in my life...one was in the last election.

BTW: What actually is MAGA ?

Thank you! Name 'em and shame 'em.

These people value the Mexican, Chinese, and Canadian drug cartels over Americans.
