Of course they did, because a sizable # of Democrats in this country are anti-American, who care more about maintaining little or no border security.
No surprise of course.

How each member of the House voted on the Laken Riley Act

(CNN) — The House on Tuesday approved a GOP-led bill to require detention of undocumented migrants charged with certain crimes.

The bill, known as the “Laken Riley Act,” would require the detention of undocumented migrants charged with theft or burglary. The legislation is named after a Georgia student who was killed last year while she was out for a run. It faces an uncertain future in the Senate.

The House vote was 264 to 159, with 48 Democrats voting with Republicans in support.

I see the only two scumbags who voted against this in my state are the two pieces of crap Democrats Gwenn Moore and Mark Pocan. Every Republican voted yes on this.

I was shocked to see that here in deep blue Oregon, two Dims voted for it! Absolutely stunning for this state.

It was a very embarrassing moment for Democrat politicians. The sad part is they didn’t understand how much it would hurt them coming into election.

How many Republicans voted for the George Floyd Act OP?

Yawn.

The Feds don't have enough room to hold the people who they've slated for Deportation now.

Demanding that states and cities hold onto undocumented aliens who commit petty crimes is an unfunded mandate. Most of them will ignore it because they just don't have the jail space to hold it while ICE takes years to deport someone.

Newly released data showed nearly 1.5 million immigrants with deportation orders are living in communities across the United States, rather than in custody.

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) docket, first obtained by Fox News Digital, showed 1,445,549 citizens from 208 countries awaiting removal in November who were not held by the agency.

While some of the highest numbers matched the countries with the highest migration numbers into the U.S., such as Mexico, Venezuela, and Honduras, several countries in Europe, Africa and Asia each had hundreds of citizens due for repatriation.

"ICE can't put everybody who's in front of the court in detention, there is not the kind of resources in the country for that, but the non-detained docket, it's more than doubled in the last four years, I don't think we've ever seen a jump that high, and in that short amount of time," Ron Vitiello, former acting chief of ICE, told Newsweek Thursday morning.

Good point...

Who is going to pay for this...

By the way, are they jailing people who are just charged... So if you don't like someone then just accuse them of theft and hey presto, no trail or jury, instant...

Can't see how this could ever be abused (sic)...

They could do this to a Canadian or a Tourist or even a US citizen can be detained until he shows proof of US Citizenship... NAZIs used to like you carrying your ID around too..

So effectively this means the police they can lock up any one the suspect of a petty crime...

But the MAGA can't see this being abused at all..

What a ******* waste of time that was.

Killing people is already illegal. This law was just a publicity stunt.

Why don't you care about the American women being killed by AMERICANS - 7 every single day, 76% percent of whom are murdered by the intimate partners. Republicans NEVER mention THESE women.

The OP's post isn't about discussing the factual existing issues and problems concerning illegal immigrants and neither about the overall criminality in the USA as such.

It only serves the purpose to bring in the term "anti-American".

I heard Adam Isacson testify in front of a senate hearing that Laken Riley's brutal murder at the hands of an illegal immigrant who was a repeat offender who had been illegally paroled was "not an actual issue." Senator Hawley went ballistic on this filthy leftist. I looked up his organization to call them and tell them what I thought of despicable Adam and they did not answer the phone. Their voice mailbox is full, you can bet from calls of angry Americans.

Trump Bashing WaPo Cartoonist -- the First Black American to Win a Pulitzer for Cartooning -- Arrested for Possession of Child S*x Exploitation Materials

—Ace

Oh, you don't say.

You don't say.

A leftwinger? And a cartoonist?

Likes looking at naked children?

You don't say, you don't say, you don't say.

A Trump-bashing, Pulitzer Prize-winning political cartoonist -- whose illustrations have been published by the Washington Post, New Yorker and Los Angeles Times -- was arrested for possession of child pornography.
Darrin Bell, the first African American to win the Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartoons, was busted Wednesday and booked in California's Sacramento County after detectives from the Internet Crimes Against Children unit were tipped off by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, law enforcement officials said.

In a search of Bell's home, detectives found 134 videos of child pornography linked to an account owned and controlled by the 49-year-old married father of four as well as computer-generated artificial intelligence child pornography, authorities said Thursday.

From the "How Could We Have Known?" Department:

One troubling cartoon that Bell created was posted to his X account in 2022 and resurfaced on the social media platform after his arrest. Titled "The Groomer," it shows an elephant-like person flashing a group of children in front of a mirrored storefront, which reflect the word "BIGOTRY" tattooed on the subject's chest.

<snip>

Bell's more well-known illustrations have touched on politics, culture and race, and have been syndicated to major outlets around the country.

Oh really? The black guy in media talked a lot about race?

You don't say, you don't say, you don't say.

The Pulitzer Prize committee hailed Bell for "beautiful and daring editorial cartoons that took on issues affecting disenfranchised communities, calling out lies, hypocrisy and fraud in the political turmoil surrounding the Trump administration" in honoring him with the venerable award in 2019.
