128,000 Jobs Could Be Lost By June

If Obama cured cancer, Repubes would bitch about having to close cancer centers.

No we wouldn't.. that's just stupid. What is wrong with you people?

What? I know it sounds stupid and it is -- just like when Bin Laden bit it; it was bad because now -- NO ONE was safe!!!

What's wrong with me? I am exceedingly irritated with republican contrarians who seemingly take up opposition to any progress made while Obama is president. Even if they have to throw their own under the bus in order to do it.

Did it ever occurs to all the Einsteins, that with lower gas prices people will have more disposable income to buy more goods thus creating more jobs to make those goods and provide those services

You're a stupid guy batshit, and you don't grasp how economics work.

Lets see, guno posted a fact that I and many other have recently experienced. I AM SPENDING LESS FOR GAS AND THEREFORE HAVE A FEW MORE DOLLARS TO SPEND ON OTHER GOODS OR SERVICES.

Gee that idea is almost rocket science to you isn't it nosense?

Like the 40 bucks I am saving that I spend on a newly opened Mexican restaurant. I am sure it would be much better for me to be burning that gas in my truck rather than providing a paying customer for a new business. Right?

Then, with all your supposed economic wisdom, you neglected to say how it is that economics works. Why was that?

We've witnessed the stupid things you people say for too long.

How does one witness spoken words? And you do realize that most of the stupid shit you moonbats claim conservatives say is total bullshit.. kinda like.. "I can see Russia from my house..."

You folks need to take a stroll in reality for once.

lol

I am saving upwards of half a grand a month on gas. Guess I better go down and apply for my EBT card.

No, you are the one that doesn't understand DICK.

Well, if that's the assessment of a 7th grade dropout like you, who am I to argue?

Lower gas prices means a booming economy. Think of how much $ the oil companies are saving with regards to delivery! It trickles down, man!

You have a funny view of economies of scale.

SO you think that the cost contribution of delivery declines as prices decline? (Ask someone who finished high school to explain it to you!)

As for batshit spewing his Keynesian idiocy, which he has no grasp of, in a recovery cycle, increased stimulus does not produce increased economic activity as the excess capital is more likely to be saved given that necessities are already being met. IF you want to preach Keynesian dogma, as least get that dogma right.

So I circle right back to the fact that batshit is one stupid guy.

I live in the SF Bay Area, Hybrids are as common as SUV's, and more so during commute hours. We own a Honda Odyssey and a Toyota Prius. The former for long trips, the latter for day in and day out get around and has never been below 48 MPG.

Gee, the bastion of liberals and you say SUVs are on par with hybrids.

The Volt is around 250 MPG right now, all city traveling, longer trips it will get 50 MPG.

Owned my first and last Honda in 2000, I hate those things.

Simple thinkers believe I am the "bastion of liberals" because I disagree vehemently with the ultra conservatives, single issue conservatives/social conservatives and callous conservatives. Consider me a pragmatic libertarian, aka a progressive democrat who believes in fiscal responsibility, the antithesis being the tea party movement.

My 2006 Honda Odyssey has 109,000 miles on it and it runs like new. I've changed the oil very 5,000 miles and have done all of the recommended service on time, most done by my mechanic. The brakes were replaced at 7,000 miles because the pads had been recalled, and I did not need to have the brakes done until last year when I had the recommended timing belt changed just before it turned 100,000 miles.

It has been reliable on all of our trips, it has taken us to Mexico, Canada and every Western State except New Mexico. It is the best and most reliable vehicle I've ever owned.

Good for you, doesn't mean I can't have my opinion, my Honda was a piece of crap. It was not a good experience. Glad you like yours. I will never own another one.

Maybe you should learn how to take care of your cars.

Who said it didn't? Don't ASSume you know what you are talking about.
I followed the suggest maintenance plan on my vehicles.

Maybe you should learn not to be an ass and make conclusion based on nothing.
dude the suggested maintenance is just a suggestion. If a rat eats the wires, it's not your manufacture's fault. If the dumb ass that changes you oil puts dirty oil in there, it's not the manufacture's fault. If your local service guys are asshats it's not the manufacture's fault. If your gas station decides to put too much ethanol in the gas it's not the manufacture's fault. Your gonna have to be more specific on what myriad of problems you had with your particular honda before we can explain to ya what you screwed up.

The forecasts are grim for the oil workers nationwide, if the price of a barrel doesn't rise to over $50 a barrel.

These aren't high corporate people, these are the hard working people that have moved to find work. These are the working middle class.

Of course we laugh and thank Obama, but now what do we do with 128,000 oil workers. North Dakota is saying 20,000 jobs are leaving. Sad, turn of events.

I like the low gas prices, however as with everything has a consequence.
I know a lot of young oilfield workers used to making $10,000 a month and spending $15,000 a month.

Do you think any listened when we tried to tell them to save?
120k a year to work on an oil field? wow
HS education, and the ability to show up on time, wherever the job is, pass a drug test, and work like Hell.

Hard to find that combination.
Maybe were you live it is. Round here we have tons of guys that fill that list of requirements out.

Lower gas prices means more money for all Americans who buy gas. Quite a bit, in fact. They in turn will buy a bunch of shit with that money.

All hail big business! Their ship has sailed!!!

Yes, low gas prices means the end of big business...

Good grief...

Is this what the public school system is churning out now days?

So if working people who have more money in their pocket from the savings on gas they won't spend it on goods an services thus creating more jobs to provide those things? Did they forget to give your meds at the home this morning?

The problem I have with you leftist morons isn't just that you spew Keynesian nonsense, but that you don't even get the Keynsian theory right.

In a matter of trends, Keynes argued that stimulus in a recession results in 3.5 turns, because the added capital will be used to meet basic needs. In a recovery cycle, the same stimulus is more likely to be saved as the necessities are already met.

This is basic Keynes.

You should at least learn the fundamentals of the theories you promote, you drooling idiot.

Trickle down, troops it works, one industry dies another rises. The displaced oil workers and the Dakotas are going to hurt. But I also believe the prices will rebound by mid summer.

Some people are going to suffer, the economy works this way. Changes ripple through some good, some bad.
