The biggest war of the medieval period.
English really dominated the first half , but the French had too much man power and $$$ and won
The adaption of cannons allowed the French to win in the end

2-3 million killed is no joke and many died by blunt objects

Interesting, a large number indeed. It would be nice to put on a scale. "There have been reported 7,088,744 (updated 24 February 2025) confirmed COVID-induced deaths worldwide."

The Hundred Years' War (French: Guerre de Cent Ans; 1337–1453) was a conflict between the kingdoms of England and France and a civil war in France during the Late Middle Ages. It emerged from feudal disputes over the Duchy of Aquitaine and was triggered by a claim to the French throne made by Edward III of England. The war grew into a broader military, economic, and political struggle involving factions from across Western Europe, fuelled by emerging nationalism on both sides. The periodisation of the war typically charts it as taking place over 116 years. However, it was an intermittent conflict which was frequently interrupted by external factors, such as the Black Death, and several years of truces.

Ahh, well, throw the Black Death in there in the middle of a hundred year war,
and now you really got something! Good times. :smoke:

England at 1400-1500 was a midget compared to France or the HRE - accounting for some 2.5 million population as opposed to France with approx 15 million and the HRE with approx. 12 million.
As such a figure of 2-3 million sounds very unrealistic - unless only French people got killed.
