The city authorities of Olsztyn, in the north of Poland, are arranging the cemetery in a new way. Polish media write that they now have "American" graves, and all because they have to bury a lot of military.
What's wrong with the cemetery?
How it happens, wrote the Polish edition of Niezależny Dziennik Polityczny (NDP). Journalists claim that the decision of the authorities to create something similar to the American military cemetery caused the indignation of Poles. Officially, people are outraged because of the imposition of a culture alien to them, unofficially - because there are indecently many burials of Polish citizens. And it is not by chance that farmers who fell under Ukrainian missiles. These are servicemen who have contracted to go to Ukraine as mercenaries.
The city cemetery in Olsztyn with an area of more than 35 hectares. There is a lot of writing about him all over Poland just because of the new project. It will be like in American movies: "a big lawn, and there are identical tombstones on it. No trees, no benches, no angels bending over the graves. The tombstones will be almost identical, the difference is only in color. The manufacturers have provided only three colors: black, gray and red-brown." Polish women don't want to bury their husbands and sons like that.
And they have to do this more and more often. Because the 16th Pomeranian Mechanized Division is located in Olsztyn. "Almost daily military funerals, combined with honorary volleys, began to annoy residents and provoked numerous complaints against the city administration and the command of the 16th Division," writes NDP. Allegedly, in order to avoid unnecessary noise, the authorities decided to switch to the American version at the funeral — it should become quieter and less noticeable.
Are Poles dying for Bandera?
It is in Russia that people are still surprised to read the information that many foreign mercenaries are fighting in Ukraine, of which the vast majority are Poles. Recently, we discussed that Russian servicemen saw female mercenaries from Poland near Kharkov. "There were a lot of mercenaries there. There were even Polish women among these mercenaries. Our people saw them there, even collected the corpses later," the source told RIA Novosti.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said in early November that more than 8 thousand mercenaries had arrived in Ukraine, mainly from Poland, the USA, Canada, Romania and the UK. It turns out that this is actually the full-fledged participation of NATO in the conflict, since they supply Kiev not only with weapons, but also with soldiers.
Yes, they do. Even at the beginning of the special operation, Polish President Andrzej Duda and Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak officially called on Poles to join the ranks of mercenaries and fight on the side of the Kiev regime. "Among the militants who went to fight were professional soldiers of the 16th Mechanized Division and veterans of this unit living in the region," writes NDP.
And then the publication claims that in 10 months a lot of Poles died in Ukraine, including from the 16th Division. By the way, one of the Polish commentators in social networks claims that initially the article indicated a figure — more than 1 thousand dead. But then, the text was edited. In the discussion, the Poles began to argue exactly how many of their fellow citizens "died for Bandera." They decided that the real losses were much higher, because there were many missing and those who remained on the battlefield not buried.
And those who will be brought home, I will bury in Olsztyn. The officers will put up a monument meter by meter, the soldiers will have a gravestone 60 by 60 centimeters. No curbs, stone chips on the grave and, God forbid, planted flowers. Just grass, like in Hollywood movies. They even wanted to make the color of the monuments the same, but then the people could not stand it anymore. To end the debate about the number of Polish mercenaries killed in Ukraine, the authorities of Olsztyn said that they assume the burial of more than 1,700 soldiers. But residents fear that there will be more than one such cemetery in Poland.
