$1.15 Billion Cracker Lawsuit favors black farmers

So blacks who were not farmers will be getting a settlement we are told is about farmers.

Really? Where does it say that? Everything that I read on the original Pigford lawsuit, states that PROOF was REQUIRED....showing that the person trying to draw off the lawsuit were farmers during that period of discrimination?

Do you have some sort of proof that the people drawing on the claim were not farmers or did not own a farm during the period that the lawsuit covers?

I think I would have put in an application to grow medical mary jane, and when they denied me, I would scream discrimination......

I'd say 94,000 claimants - 18,000 black farmers = 76,000 black people are lying.

Then prove it. With that many liars it should be easy for you to supply us with 760 names.:eusa_whistle: Ahh, heck, I will make it a piece of cake for you, just 76 names.

huh?

I just read again that those making the Pigford claim had to show PROOF that they applied for a FARM LOAN during this period, with proof that they were turned down....?

How come no one is bitching about the 3.5 billion settlement the Indians were given and only complaining about the 1.15 billion the Pigford claimants will get?

Hmmm, I haven't started that "Troll" thread yet......

The point is discrimination in America is going to pay a high price, and racists are going to be hit in the pocket book, evidentually the only place they can feel pain. And eventually Americans will get tired of paying for these racists stupidity and start shunning them at the dinner table. Hmm, $4.20 Billion worth of painful racism. That is $134. dollars of discrimination lessons for every American. Hopefully you have a small family.

You would think we could get all this white hate and discrimination behind us, but those white Crackers want to continue stirring the pot. This hateful pot is going to cost Whiteys $1.15 billion, and at the worst time for the nation. Just call it a stimulus for the black farmer.

The Pigford settlement will award $1.15 billion to African American farmers who were unfairly denied loans by the Department of Agriculture in the 1980s and 1990s. The farmers were found to have been discriminated against and are being compensated financially. But because the settlement involves federal money being paid to African Americans, the right-wing is calling it "reparations."

But it doesn't matter that the farmers were discriminated against. It doesn't matter that Pigford legislation has enjoyed bipartisan support going back to the days of Speaker Newt Gingrich. What matters is the perception -- both utterly false and politically potent -- that America's first black president is implementing some form of punitive racial justice, to the benefit of African Americans and at the expense of whites.

Cracker is our word. You don't have our permission to use it. What kind of Racial Hatred are you Spewing? I think anyone who can pick out a tractor in a multiple choice picture question, should get an application for financial compensation. Does that work for you Sparky????? I didn't think so. Your attitude is really fucked, just so you know.

Cracker to me is a racist, in this case, racist in our government that deliberately screwed Americans because of their skin color. Not all Whites are crackers, and the damage has been done, to late to pick out a tractor. Cash will do, and this is a race rebate holdup. I got the right attitude, as long as the white man discriminates, the longer he will feel the pain in his ass, the pocket book.

 Bullshit! We are all related Sparky. You perpetuate division, nothing more. When you do what you are doing you become exactly what you are fighting, your remedy is to do what was done to others. That's just more injustice, compounded injustice. There is no Country or Continent that the Black Human has fared as well as here.

To me, the word Cracker, like the word Niger has no place in civilized discourse. Both words are used to hurt, and hurt is all they do.

Possibly because there was no dispute about it. There is, however, a slightly large question mark over how 18,000 has become est 80,000 claims. If you can work out how 18,000 becomes 80,000, do feel free to let us know.

Thats actually easy.

The 18,000 is current black and Native-American farmers. Right now. The 80,000 number of claimants include those who have gone belly-up and are now out of agribusiness since the period of discrimination, and those who could not get loans they were qualified for to go into farming due to the discrimination present during the time period in question.

I have no problem with including individuals who were legitimately denied opportunities due to the discrimination. There does seem to be fraud involved with some of the claimants, but on a much much much smaller scale than Michelle Bachmann is claiming.

There is a rumor though that Shirley Sherrod received a few million out of the settlement for her company, and a few hundred thousand for her personally. I do not know the veracity of it though, and it requires a little more time in the sun for people to dig to the bottom of that one.

Well, the problem isn't the concept, it's how it's being done. For example, if YOU, a dedicated far left whacko, did any legit reading on this bill, you'd find the following are true regarding it:

The black farmers who file for this:

1- Do NOT have to prove they were farmers at all in the 80's or 90's
2- Do NOT have to prove they were discriminated against.

All the black "farmer" has to do is fill out a form saying "I was a black farmer in the 80's and 90's" and "I was discriminated against".

So, any black person living on land where something could grow (think a backyard tomato garden) can claim they were discriminated against.

So basically, any black person willing to lie on a piece of government paper is going to get paid.

And you think that is a good bill?????

Glad to see you gloating over "black farmer fraud" and by that I mean the original lawsuit which had merit was paid but now the ranks of black "farmers" has risen from 18 thousand at the time to over 90 thousand at this time. It's yer regular "black shakedown" of the "whiteys"

The 18,000 number is the number of current black farmers. Right now, today. The 90,000 number is the total number that were affected during the entire period of time that the discrimination was occurring. Example: If a black farmer went bankrupt, or was denied loans that were given to non-minorities simply on the basis of the farmers minority status...and that same minority is no longer a farmer...then they are not part of the 18,000 number, but are part of the 90,000 number. They should still be eligible for any compensation given from the lawsuit though.

The Sherrod angle though....THATS going to be the dark horse that may actually be a scandal. I'm going to take a nap. I don't know if you feel like looking further into Sherrod's company getting compensated millions, and her personally getting compensated hundreds of thousands, but that may be where the scandal actually lies IMO.

That's the opposite of what's being said in congress.
