Zimmerman

I bet the jury will be full of whites. I say that with certainty right now.

Because, of course, whites are simply unable to understand the requirements of the law when a hispanic stands trial.

That's about as absurd as expecting a jury of all whites in Florida.

Whites are more likely to be in favor of Zimmerman than blacks. Are you really going to deny that blacks wouldn't be biased against Zimmerman?

If Zimmerman hadn't been armed, he wouldn't have felt "brave" enough to stalk Trayvon. Therefore, nothing would have happened and Trayvon would still be alive.

So basically, we should take away his right to bear arms?

Yes. Because a person who follows a black kid in a white neighbourhood, shooting him dead has no right to carry a gun.

It was a mixed gated community.

The Retreat at Twin Lakes is a 260-unit gated townhome community in Sanford, Florida.[85][86] The population in the development is about 49% non-Hispanic white, 23% Hispanic, 20% black, and 5% Asian, according to Census figures

I'm glad Trayvon got a few licks in before Zimmerman murdered him in cold blood.

Okay, let me ask you. About a month after the tradgedy of treyvon. I believe it was in arizona a mentally challenged late 20's man was walking his dog across the drive in window lane and got into a verbal argument with a man in a car. Well the man in the car got out and shot the mentally challenged guy and killed him. Got out of his CAR and shot an unarmed mentally chanlleged man. Now the dead guy was white, and the killer was black, where was the outrage? I'll tell ya, no there wasn't because liberals couldn't play polotics with it.

same ball game..... just new photos. Zimmerman shot in self defense.

What I don't get at all is Zimmerman's lawyers having to fight for all this discovery.

Check this out. This is the latest battle. How nuts is this?

Fight over Trayvon Martin's cellphone as lawyers for shooter George Zimmerman demand teenager's father hand over PIN to access calls

A major piece of evidence in the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin has yet to be analyzed - his cell phone.

Attorneys for shooter George Zimmerman are fighting to get information pulled from phone records in the hope of shedding light on the teenager's death.

The phone was found at the scene with its battery dead on the night that Trayvon Martin was killed on February 26 in Sanford, Florida.

Do you consider that a rational response?

You're questions ambiguous. Please clarify what "that" is and in response to what? it could be interpreted several ways.

Eh. It usually takes time to get all the evidence. Not out of any bad faith. Some people just dont think something is evidence or they might not be aware of it or haven't thought about it.

^20% black, yet most of Z's reports were on blacks, weren't they??

Good grief.

In September 2011, the Twin Lakes residents held an organizational meeting to create a neighborhood watch program.

Zimmerman was selected by neighbors as the program's coordinator, according to Wendy Dorival, Neighborhood Watch organizer for the Sanford Police Department.[5][92] Zimmerman "once caught a thief and an arrest was made...He helped solve a lot of crimes," said Cynthia Wibker, secretary of the homeowners association.[55]

Three weeks prior to the shooting, on February 2, 2012, Zimmerman called police to report a young man peering into the windows of an empty Twin Lakes home.

Zimmerman was told a police car was on the way, and he followed protocol, awaiting their arrival. By the time police arrived, the suspect had fled.

On February 6, 2012, workers witnessed two young black men lingering in the yard of a Twin Lakes resident around the same time her home was burglarized. A new laptop and some gold jewelry were stolen.

The next day police discovered the stolen laptop in the backpack of a young black man, which led to his arrest. Zimmerman identified this young man as the same person he had spotted peering into windows on February 2

Sadly it appears in this location in the events leading up to the shooting, most of the suspicious activity was carried out by blacks.

It's documented.

And this from Reuters.

But a more nuanced portrait of Zimmerman has emerged from a Reuters investigation into Zimmerman's past and a series of incidents in the community in the months preceding the Martin shooting.

Based on extensive interviews with relatives, friends, neighbors, schoolmates and co-workers of Zimmerman in two states, law enforcement officials, and reviews of court documents and police reports, the story sheds new light on the man at the center of one of the most controversial homicide cases in America.

The 28-year-old insurance-fraud investigator comes from a deeply Catholic background and was taught in his early years to do right by those less fortunate.

He was raised in a racially integrated household and himself has black roots through an Afro-Peruvian great-grandfather - the father of the maternal grandmother who helped raise him.

A criminal justice student who aspired to become a judge, Zimmerman also concerned himself with the safety of his neighbors after a series of break-ins committed by young African-American men.

Though civil rights demonstrators have argued Zimmerman should not have prejudged Martin, one black neighbor of the Zimmermans said recent history should be taken into account.

"Let's talk about the elephant in the room. I'm black, OK?" the woman said, declining to be identified because she anticipated backlash due to her race.

She leaned in to look a reporter directly in the eyes. "There were black boys robbing houses in this neighborhood," she said. "That's why George was suspicious of Trayvon Martin."
