The PGO would use open investigations into companies to extort them. Whether that was what was going on with Burisma, I don’t know. But the investigation was just not there.

As for the diamond prosecutors, Shokin’s buddies were caught doing exactly what I just said. Opening investigations to extort people. Shokin defended them. There’s a number of articles on the topic.

Shokin was also Deputy Prosecutor General the year before and was assigned the case where Great Britain seized some of Zlochevsky's assets and Shokin was instructed to work with GB. Instead, he worked for Zlochevsky (indirectly), to the point GB had to drop their case against Zlochevsky.

Hey! Guess what? People who are corrupt don't always get charged in Ukraine. Shokin didn't get charged with corruption. True! Neither did Zlochevsky or a ton of other people in the country who are definitely corrupt.

I don't know much about Zelensky's prosecutor general, but Zelensky didn't take office until months after Obama left, so whatever happened there had nothing to do with Biden.

Like everyone else in Ukraine, I'd bet Zelensky knew that Shokin was corrupt so Trump's request to investigate Biden would seem QUITE odd given that Biden did the country a favor by trying to get corrupt officials chucked out of the government. The very fact that Trump was pushing for an "investigation" is the corruption. This is the kind of crap that post-Soviet countries do to political opposition.
