I WAS going to complain about how hot it is... then I realized that at least:

1.) it isn't 109 degrees

2.) I'm not 5,700 miles from home

3.) I'm not dressed in a full BDU uniform and helmet and carrying 70+ lbs.

4.) there is very little chance that anyone will shoot at me or that I might drive over a bomb in the road today!

Thanks to all who serve !!!

^^^^^ This.

Yeah, quit bitchin' about the heat!

In a few short months most of us will be freezing our asses off and dealing with the snow and the ice and the heating bills. And that's something worth bitching about.

My husband and I were out at our pool yesterday, enjoying the warmth. I looked at him and said ... "We need to take all this in ... as much as we can now because in a few short months it will all be covered with feet of snow."

sigh ....

A friend of mine posted this on FB last night. I'll write here what I wrote there.

God bless our troops and keep them safe!

Yeah, I found that on Facebook too, and added it to my status.

I remember Bootneck telling me how damn hot it gets in Afghanistan in the summers there, and all that gear they have to wear, and away from home, and no cold water or ice or showers.....

First thing he did when he got back to England is have a hot shower and a cold drink with ice in it!

I'm sure he's hot as hell where he is now too.....let's hope he's home soon! :eusa_pray:

Yes, thanks!

I have to say when I'm driving home from work and see people with their house windows open and fans in them, I feel really sorry for them too.

It is fucking hot!

I was looking for pictures yesterday that showed how hot it was.

I went to Bing images and typed in "It's Fucken Hot"

I got a bunch of porn instead.

Over there this is not hot. After 3 weeks I was so used to it I couldn't stand AC anymore or I'd come down sick.

Y'all come for a visit. It is about 58 right now, foggy, over cast and I have my uggs on. I have a big back yard where you can pitch a tent and camp out. Sorry, no ac. Don't need it. The pacific is my ac.
