Administration extending health care signups

The Obama administration plans to extend the time period beyond the March 31 deadline for people to enroll in health-care plans through the federal insurance marketplace.

The change will allow people to qualify for an extension by checking a box on the website indicating they tried to enroll before the deadline. The government will not try to determine if they are telling the truth, the report said, but will rely on the honor system.

Administration extending health care signups

I don't think I have ever seen a law which has been extended this much and changed over and over... Maybe there are others I am unaware of?

The administration has just shown that their pride and joy legislation has crashed and burned. This isn't boding well for all the BS we've heard from the libbies, they can no longer tout how great and successful this debacle really is.

With respect, electoral disaster mitigation has been the goal since this pos was passed. I don't even see this change as significant. While I implicitly predicted such an outcome I don't think you will have much trouble finding explicit predictions of this outcome by other posters.

what was this allege out come you predicted ???? as the sign ups go, by the end of march, there will be 6.5 million people signed up ... 500,000 less then they had hoped for, if the beginning had a smooth start up ... so what's this allege prediction you have ... as for the extension they can extend any part of the bill ... there's no regulations saying they can't in the bill... what are you afraid of ??? signing a couple more million in 15 days ??? is that that you're afraid of ... that the plan is actually working ... and you can't stand that idea ...

it's hilarious; obama is the one delaying the phuk out of his own law; desperately hoping it can be "fixed" into something that works; because the crybabies in the Dem Party adult enough to admit their law is fatally flawed and needs to be repealed

the vast majority of the sign-ups are for Medicare; which DOES NOT HELP the viability of the system.

libs are losers who lie to themselves

the only ones that are being lied to is you loser republicans ... you can take that to the bank ....actually as we sit right now 6.5 million have sign up for regular health care ... 6 million have sign up for medicaid ... 3.2 million have sign on to their parents policy.... those are the numbers you can whine all you want, but those are the facts ... according to the government, with all of these people signing up, come November, I believe 15.7 million people will be voting against you republicans .... I also believe when it starts getting out to the press that these people who have sign up are very happy .... where ever republicans have blocked their state for medicaid sign up and health care sign ups, they will be pissed ... so pissed that it will show up in their voting against republicans ... that's my prediction ...

you keep yammering how bad it is ... I think you're hilarious and clueless at the same time ... how is allowing 15 days making it desperately hoping ... they predicted 7 million people signing up ... 6.5 million is the final prediction at the end of the month ... by adding 15 days more that's desperately hoping??? what are they desperately hoping??? thats funny... desperately hoping
BWA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Put down the bong, billie. Too many people who have signed up are not happy at all, billie.
Higher premiums, higher deductibles, losing their Dr.s and hospitals. Many had their policies dropped and had to fall into obamacare. The number who have signed up doesn't equate to them paying.
You forget that this bill was for those who were "uninsured" and they aren't the ones signing up. So what ever number the government wanted to insure 20 million or 40 million, it's a total failure when you're talking about 4-6 million who have "enrolled".
Keep putting lipstick on that pig, billie....it's only fooling the willing.

Yup, they want it to fail so bad that they'll say that single payer is the only answer. It's what obama and the socialists want.

Yes, their goal, all along. What transparency they promised but didn't deliver upon. So much for hope and change. We did get the change but not the one we thought.

Never ceases to amaze me that those in the white trash party take glee that people who don't have medical care are giving a short extension to buy it, most educated states have expanded Medicaid to cover people who cannot afford medical treatment, it is only in the states where that isn't available then people have to get aca which is subsidized by the government. It really takes a lower form of life to whine about medical care being made available .

you dont know what you're talking about as usual; too busy hurling petty insults.

the federal SUBSIDY to states that expanded Medicaid will eventually go away; what will be left is a huge UNFUNDED MANDATE

idiots and hypocrites

What do you expect? You can't be smart AND be a democrat.

They need more time to bolster already fudged enrollment numbers, via the honor system. Not enough Hispanics signed up and state prisons need more time to enroll more felons to get them off the state payment hook. (Putting felons on an honor system........sometimes I think I've died and woke up in Bizarro Land).
