We will not know who stole this without a successful investigation.... but doubt it was a conservative veterans group, or whatever other group you wish to associate to 'Republicans".. I would bet dollars to donuts that this was an act of theft/vandalism for a political point against the monument

Or the kind of vandalism we see most...teenagers or young adults liquored up and doing it because.....it's there.

Criminal investigations do involve identification of the characteristics of likely suspects. We either acknowledge these, or exist is an ineffectual politically correct fugue. Take your pick (it's pretty clear where your inclinations lie).

You're disdain for waiting for an investigation is noted. Isn't that what the Nazis did, blame an entire group of people for their woes? Isn't that what Stalin did? Convict groups of people without evidence or trials?

I remember a case a few years back where a family had gone to a military funeral for a relative who had died in Iraq. While they were gone, someone took American flags that they had been flying and set those flags on fire under their car...causing considerable damage. Posters made the same accusations the OP is about liberals, leftists, etc. Found out it was some neighborhood teenagers, liquored up and out for some mayhem....and if I remember correctly, (if you care) their parents were registered Republicans.

While I do not know for sure, the odds are this is vandalism by teenagers/young adult males....

I think I know what happened....someone hung a Mexican flag or painted a Mexican flag on the cross and someone "rightfully" torn the cross down. This was their way of dealing with the "trillions" of illegal aliens in this country.

I don't know for sure either... but from the looks

Mojave National Preserve, Natural, Mojave Desert, Mitchell Caverns

... it's not your typical locale or terrain for your typical drunken teenage vandalism... vandalism or pranks in a neighborhood, yeah... vandalism or pranks within 10 miles of a hangout, yeah...

I think motive would be a key to this thing... and, as I said, it's only my opinion, but I would bet dollars to donuts that this is indeed perpetrated and committed by someone in opposition to the monument

Actually, it is. I know many people raised in AZ and Eastern CA...this is the kind of stuff (safe with no witnesses) that vandals find the easiest to do.

Except for driving out into private land, way out of the way an hour and 45 minutes from the closest decent size city and an hour or so from the closest tiny town, monitored by park rangers in the area, with entrances, limited access hours, and 1600 miles of dirt roads to get lost in...

Nah... I would lay my money on someone with motive and motivation, over that of drunken everyday teens or vandals

The cross has been replaced multiple times due to the hard weather. The one that was stolen wasn't that old - it will be replaced.
