Yeppers, EV's are TAKING over..........NOT

Ford lost 2 billion last year, and will lose 3 billion this year, mainly thanks to their huge investment in EV's.

lDlOTIC HEADLINE FROM DISHONEST and STUPID POSTER.

Ford selling to cheap to get market share/losing money does NOT have to do with the Health of the EV Market.

2022 was a BOOMING Market for EVs

""The US Electric Vehicle market almost Doubled last year, with BEV registrations surging to 5.6% of light-vehicle registrations, compared to 3.1% in 2021.

New electric vehicle registrations numbered 756,534 in 2022 (+57 percent)
Experian data cited by Automotive News shows. Interestingly, the Spectacular Growth of the EV market occurred as the overall light-vehicle market saw an 11 Percent Drop in registrations to 13.6 million...."

EVs Made Up 5.6 Percent Of US Car Market In 2022 Driven By Tesla

When government gets involve in the free market it almost always harms businesses. The problem is, too often taxpayers are bailing out and subsidizing these enterprises. In this case EV battery and vehicle credits when Biden signed the massive budget with Manchins approval.
all one has to do is drive one once and see what a pain it is to recharge! or own one over the winter and freeze because you don't have enough battery to run the heater. LOL

the loyalty runs deep in this one!!!! always has to make up shit to convince his own self that he's doing what the DNC asked him to. Amazing.

Worse, just wait until the EV owners come home nearly empty because there were no handy, working or available charging locations to recharge using their old reliable charger in their garage overnight, and when they go to plug in, the neighborhood has a 6 hour power outage or the city declares an electricity shortage and disallows any recharging and you have to get up at 4AM to leave for work in 19° and a winter storm!!!

Well our resident trolls have done their damndest to destroy your thread but a few intelligent people are hanging in there with you.

The impracticality of using an electric car when you have a long commute, drive in your work and most especially when your car is your office away from the office or home is just too obvious to miss by anybody. At least by anybody other than leftist trolls who would insult you and make all kinds of stupid inferences if you posted that drinking clean water is recommended over drinking dirty water.

But yes even though the Mustang is the best selling sports car in the world, Ford is taking a beating on its EV models despite very attractive federal and state subsidies when you buy one. The price of a Ford EV is not much different than buying a Tesla, but the Tesla is more prestigious. People who buy EVs usually flaunt it and when you drive a Tesla, people KNOW you're driving an EV.

But then, in the first quarter of 2023 Tesla was the best selling car in the world. But that's with federal and state subsidies generally totaling $15,000 or so and that makes buying one a lot more attractive. The largest number of Teslas are sold in China where roughly half of Teslas are manufactured. And China also subsidizes those cars at higher levels than any other country.

Take away the subsidies in the USA, in China, and anywhere else and I'm pretty sure EVs would not be anywhere near as attractive to consumers.

Ford definitely plans to give Tesla a run for its money with four new plants planned to build EV vehicles. But if the GOP is put into power in 2024 and backs off Biden's insistence that fossil fuels be shut down and/or shuts down the billions in government subsidies, those investments could be horrible for Ford who, as your OP suggests, still doesn't have much traction in the EV market.

Some lady had posted that "I bought my new car to drive not to charge all day". The battery capacity for power is clearly not there yet
They promoted them with the charge while you sleep mentally that only works if you don’t use it!!! Hahaha haha

projecting are you?
People who believe that the world is about to end because of cars are idiots, including the climate "scientist."

I imagine running the heat in an EV shortens travel distance too.

The world has been around billions of years, it will be around looooong after we are gone.

Part of the plan.......wreck the auto companies to limot access to vehicles

Sure! Only way to make heat in the winter it to run heavy current through a big resistor wire and make it hot as you blow air over it with an electric fan! Exactly what batteries DON'T want to see except in an ice car where the alternator that EVs don't have recharges the battery constantly as it runs so you can effectively run the heater forever all you want until you bake so long as you still have gas in the car with almost no additional load on the engine.

Since EVs are strictly just storage and drain, they can't do that.

ICE cars MAKE their own power as they run wherever they go.

EV cars just carry the power temporarily from somewhere else, then drain it off.

It's really amusing when the trolls give you a thumbs down on a post when they have absolutely nothing whatsoever to use to rebut it. They just double down on how ignorant or maybe dumb they are. :)
