And that was wrong...and history showed it to be wrong. Just like the military helped in rounding up and putting Japanese Americans in camps. It too was wrong. The military obeyed Andrew Jackson and not congress or the supremes
In the end Andy did comply. Oh, he drug his feet, grumbled, cursed loudly but he didn't push it all the way. No President has ever gone against the will of the Congress nor the Supreme Court.

The trail of tears was indeed pushed all the way
Liberals are scared and that's why they lie on history
This was from a time when the Nation was in growing pains. The Supreme Court was forming. It was not yet formed into the power it is today. Marshal helped to make it like we know it today. It became more of a fight between States Rights versus Federal Wishes than anything else. If you were to study up on this, you would see that Jackson was between a rock and a hard place. He had a newly minted US Congress Law that agreed with the Georgia State Law that prompted the removal of the Cherokee against a weak Supreme Court that had yet to grow into the power we see today. In a few short years, things did change and the Trail of Tears would not have been allowed to happen due to the change in Georgia's state laws and the increase in powers of the Supreme Court. The Nation was experiencing growing pains. The Nation had only been around for about 60 years and had not yet determined exactly what a nation was.
This condition cannot be allowed to ever happen again. Since then, checks and balances and laws have been put into place that prevent it. You want to turn things back to then? Fine. Invent your time machine and transport yourself back then. Chances are, you won't make it past a single month. Those people were a hardy bunch and you are not.
