Both frustration & resentment regarding ones position in life often leads to anger & anger can lead to violence. Then there remains the fear factor of 'change' itself, so the cycle continues on & on & so does the resentment. Many of the black folks in these situations also get trapped into g'ment dependency & are kept captive to those monthly welfare so called benefits. Lack of employment, drugs, gangs, alcohol & the herd mentality makes any chance of an improved lifestyle an impossibility for them. Those inner city poverty areas are simply the best @ keeping frustration, anger & violence alive & kicking!

I've read studies in the past that claimed after Katrina those displaced from New Orleans and relocated to small towns did much better than those bussed to places like Houston and Phoenix and other big urban areas. It is obvious why many black pols would object to slum clearing projects, though, and most welfare programs are controlled by state govts., even though much of the money is Federal. Federal welfare should be independent of local controls, and allow some of these people to flee those shitholes as fast as they can run.

they put themselves in that position. by being criminals . high school dropouts and living on welfare instead doing what's right. no one guides there life but them. there is plenty of struggling poor folks that dont act this way.
