now...all 70's music, with a few exceptions, is weak/wimpy. Who wants to listen to guys sing like they got kicked in the nuts?
The Captain and Tenille .... what more has to be said?

You've heard his music before, I'm sure. Pretty much any old-skool 70s funk you hear these days is either Isaac Hayes or George Clinton. You'd probably recognize him, too. Check it out....

He was the guy at the end of PCU, if you've ever seen that.

Shaft. No one understands him but his woman.

Just ain't my thang, ya dig?

My mother loved him though.

I'm surprised we've come this far in the thread and no one has yet mentioned
the Sultan of Syrup...
the Duke of Drivel...
the Count of Cornball...
the Baron of Boredom.....

the host of Wide, Wide World of Wimpiness

Barry Manilow

I don't know what it's called, but that "loving you is easy cuz you're beautiful" song is pretty wussed out. Anything by James Taylor or The Carpenters counts as well....
You beat me to Minnie Ripperton's song but watch what you say about the other two. I like J.T. and I tho't Karen C had a beautiful voice.....even tho' the songs may be sappy.

Did anyone mention John Denver?

"Sunshine on my shoulder... make me happy......"

(just like his song on my radio... makes me queasy....)

P.S. is there a corelation between wimpy songs on the radio and wimpy presidents in the White House?
