Will there be mainstream coverage for women's cricket?

Probably almost as much as there is for men's cricket.

There is stark difference between financial status of male cricketers and female cricketers. Famous male cricketers like Tendulkar and Dhoni are worth millions of US dollars. Although this is not much compared to baseball players who make significantly more but it still is a very good money by any standard.

Women cricketers get paid very little primarily because no one watches the game when they are playing. Even women prefer watching men's cricket.

Then it will probably be like most women's versions of sports. The WNBA doesn't garner nearly the attention that the NBA does. In college basketball the women's games don't pull nearly the fans and media attention that the men's games do.

I believe that the moment that Women's Tiddlywinks, Women's Shuffleboard, Women's Frisbee, Women's Dunk Tank, and Women's Nude Jumping Jacks all receive mainstream coverage, THEN Women's Cricket will become mainstream.

Only if they play it in micro-bikinis...

You obviously have no idea what cricket is. This is a sport which is played all day long for five days on a field of grass. If you are wearing micro-bikinis, grasshoppers will get between your cracks and it will not be pleasant. Be practical and kind for a minute if you will.

There are two sides to this argument. Female athletes attribute the disparity to gender bias that exists in the society. But I personally think, it is their inability to present an exciting contest that results in lack of viewership for women in cricket. As society is changing, more and more women are becoming interested in playing this sport. This I think will improve the quality. Once the quality is improved, it will definitely draw in more fans. This is true for any sports. For example women's tennis draws good viewership because women in tennis present spectacular contest.
