You are right, China does not want us in the area helping the N.Koreans establish a democracy after any regime dismantling, nor wanting us there for the humanitarian help etc.
Not just because we would be setting foot in the neighborhood, nor their seeing benefits of & tasting democracy, but also because of the trade that would occur.

The North Korean issue can be resolved by only one mean – the regime change. It can hardly be possible without China’s consent. It is possible that China waits for an offer from the US.
