Will Obama's poll bounce last?

I'm not an Obama supporter/voter, and my guess is it seems like he'll win as easily in 2012 as he did in 2008.

We all still remember how terrible the economy was during the Bush years when he had full republican power in house and senate, so it being terrible now isn't going to make people rush to republicans to save us.

We're becoming numb to it, the economy has been so awful for so long.

Excuse me, which party controlled Congress from 2006 on? Hint, it wasn't the GOP.
People are not used to a bad economy. They are not used to being out of work. They are not used to paying north of $4 a gal for gas.
They are fed up with ineffective expensive political programs with rhetoric that blames anyone but where it needs to go.
No, Obama is toast. He is Jimmy Carter redux.
Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?

From 2001-2007 the economy was crap when your heros were running the show also. People are angry about a bad economy, but they're used to it and it's going to remain bad no matter which status quo bureacrat we put in office. We're used to high unemployment. We're used to high gas prices. We're used to ineffective expensive political programs, that's been going on my entire 25 years on earth.

Obama will win easily, you don't like it, I don't like it, but it's going to happen.

No I'm not better off, I didn't vote for him, won't in 2012. I also won't vote for Romneycare or big government Mike Huckabee or whatever other lib you guys put on the ticket.

I am not sure about this. the last Ras poll I saw was apr 30th thru the 2nd.:eusa_eh:

sorry bro...read the link please-

Daily updates are based upon nightly telephone interviews and reported on a three-day rolling average basis. As a result, two-thirds of the interviews for today’s update were conducted before news was released about the death of Osama bin Laden.

and Ras latest 3 day are here...

Depends on if Democrats can turn this into one of those brute-force Republican memes.

"Obama Got Obama" ....repeat until nauseated. "Obama Got Obama""Obama Got Obama""Obama Got Obama"

At least it'll replace "Blame Boooosh" and "Obama's a socialist!"

Which 0bama did 0bama get?

:eusa_eh:

amazing somehow the gop is gonna get obama re elected...just amazing but no the bounce is not gonna last with gas going up....any decrease in gas prices will be temporary.....americans are planning their summer vacations which i will guess will be staycas or something...the fad name for staying home instead of heading out on the road...this happened last time gas prices got high...still no jobs...a lot of mal out there but american voters will ignore important issues and vote their wallets...simple as that....are you better off now than 4 years ago? most of us can say no to that.....underemployed if employed....high gas prices are now impacting food prices...wages are not going up but all other expenses are. somehow the rich are continuing to get richer....go figure...

Obama will get a deserved, but temporary, bounce for killing Bin Laden.

But the economy is still a mess. The economy is barely growing. Real inflation (calculated with the 1978 method) is 10%. Unemployment is high. Interest rates are so low that they are no longer an effective stimulus tool; and raising them to combat inflation will just further crater GDP.

Finiancially I am better of now than 4 years ago.

That's because unemployment was extended to 99 weeks.

Where's the job's why is food and fuel so expensive why isn't anything being done about the economy. Pretty sure this isn't what Obama had in mind.

What do you think.. are they right? Are people simply to busy trying to stay above water to care or is OBL yesterday's new's and people simply couldn't care less.

Unemployment below 5%, inflation close to zero, GDP growth about twice what it is now.
Yeah, sounds like economic hell to me.

Leweman's right: there's very little that any president can do to help the economy.

Then again, the GOP is so dysfunctional right now that it's going to be hard for any moderate candidate to get the nomination over someone on the far right. And nobody on the right has enough charisma to appeal to a broad base.

I think romney has charisma. but he's the wrong religion for the GOP.

I would bet that a Mormon with the charisma of Ronald Reagan could get both the nomination and the electoral vote. Romney's charisma doesn't even come close to what Reagan had.

LBJ Sucked green doggie weenies! Clowntoon was a pro corporate leaning type.

How much of a war monger do you think he was? And Clintoon? LBJ did suck the big one as most of his policies did. The only exception I can think of would be the Civil Rights Act which most of his own party wouldn't support. People like Al Gore Sr., Byrd and Clintons personal favorite, Sen Fulbright I believe.

He'll get a bump, thats for sure. But come election time the economy will still be in shambles and nothing done about the debt.

BTW, since the military just saved Obama's Presidency from being a complete failure, do you libs still want to cut spending for them?

How much did maintaining large unnecessary troop presences in Europe and Korea contribute to this operation?

unnecessary troop presences in Europe and Korea
Europe could be drawn down but how you could mix Korea in the same sentence is beyond stunning ya there no threat there LOL....

There is no threat to us in Korea. And Korea has the resources to replace every US asset there with their own.

Finiancially I am better of now than 4 years ago.

So am I, and my taxes are lower. Not that they should be, but because I know mine are lower, I know that 90 plus percent of the conservatives on this board also have lower taxes,

which makes anything they say to the contrary a big fat lie.

Hint: It's because we're all making less money.

Pretty much. OBL being sent to HELL at our hand doesn't change what Obama and the Statists have done to the economy.

He's got charisma. Just not the good kind.

Are you really this dumb? What does South Korea and Japan have that we don't hmm? Let alone that both are active allies
